WEEK 10 PREVIEWThe Tigers are currently riding a two game winning streak with back-to-back wins over LEL opponents Warrensville Heights and Shaw. These are both teams the Mustangs have defeated in league play as well. This weeks matchup should prove to be an exiciting one with both teams sitting at 2-2 in the league. The winner of tonight’s game will solidify third place in the confer-ence.
The Tigers defense has been rather stingy the past two weeks only allowing a total of 14 points. For the Tigers defense to have success they must shut down an explo-sive Mustang offense. Maple Heights certainly has the ability to put up points as they have scored more than 20 points in all but one of their games this season.
On the offensive side of the ball tonight is an oppor-tunity for QB Josh Harris to hit the 1,000 yard passing mark as he is only 33 yards shy. Additionally, running back Xavier Pillar who eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing last week has the opportunity to pile on. Without ques-tion senior wideouts Garyson Green, LeMaro Smith Jr and Zaire Webb look to make a mark in the last high school game of their careers. It’s no coincidence the Tigers have been successful the past two weeks as they have been consistent in all three phases of the game. If they can continue to display those same qualities tonight they will give themselves a chance to win and end the season on a three game winning streak.
