2 0 1 7 I L L I N I C L A S S I COn behalf of the Illinois Hereford Association, I personally invite you to attend the 2017 Illini Classic, held in conjunction with the Illinois Beef Expo. Like we have done over the past couple years, we will be hosting our annual pre-sale IHA Social Event with food and drinks available to all. This event has been a hit and gives you an excellent opportunity to socialize, visit with fellow breeders and view this year’s sale offering.

Illinois Hereford breeders continue to be industry leaders in terms of breeding cattle with outstanding phenotype and outstanding genetic advantages. This year’s sale offering is further proof of their commitment to bringing their best! The offering includes Junior National quality show heifer prospects, powerful bred heifers and herd sire prospects. Please note that we are re-introducing Frozen Genetics to the Illini Classic lineup. A few powerful flush opportunities and embryo matings will surely give you the chance to advance the improvement of your herd. No matter what the goals of your operation are, the Illini Classic has something to fit your needs.

If you are unable to join us Friday night, please follow the sale and bid online at DVAuction.com. If you would like assistance with selection or have questions, please contact myself, Monte Lowderman or John Meents. Trucking can be arranged if needed.

Make a weekend out of it and plan to attend the IHA Annual Meeting and Banquet on Saturday morning at 9:30 AM. You won’t want to miss it!

Thank you in advance for your interest, and do not hesitate to contact us with questions.

• This February open heifer will truly stop you in your tracks. Her flawless profile and sweeping rib will knock you out, not to mention her dark red color, goggle-eyes and beautiful front end. This heifer’s maternal sister sold last year for $4,600 and we think this one is better. To top it off, the dam is also selling. Take advantage of getting to see the factory and the product side by side.

• Here’s a cool heifer with awesome genetics. With a mother who is a full sister to STAR Olivia and the great Wyarno, you can’t go wrong. The picture does not do her justice. She is an extended, deep bodied heifer that doesn’t miss a stride. Been one of my favorites since birth. Also, tame enough for a first year showman. Bid with confidence. • This heifer is a square hipped, long-bodied, feminine daughter of a Harvie Dan T-Bone dam. Her dam was a division champion at the Junior National when she was a heifer. As always, raised without creep feed as a calf to protect the integrity of the udder and to keep fat from interrupting the breeding process. We believe that the buyer will have a productive cow for years to come.

• Doreen is exactly what we have been working towards for the past few years. She is the first daughter out of our powerful donor, ANL 35U Victoria 59X, owned with DaKitch Farms. This is the type of progeny I expected we would get out of 59X. Doreen is beautifully made, extremely sound, has plenty of muscle and is marked up just right! A maternal sister was the top selling female in the Mohican West sale this fall for $12,500. If you want to invest in one that will make an awesome cow, she is your ticket! • Dominette is very nicely made with a solid red color, beautiful goggle eyes and a great disposition for the younger showman. Her mother is a wonderful 2-year-old from Topp Herefords and her sire produced both polled champions in Denver 2016. Dominette should make a nice female for many years to come.

• Exciting daughter of the National Champion, Mason. Outstanding phenotype and presence. Incredible depth of body for an April baby with added dimension and power. Dark red, conservatively marked and super hairy. A total knockout when she cocks off! Outstanding udder quality and maternal abilities coming from her Tundra x Kella mother, one of our favorite young females at MCF. Melania has the potential to make a positive, long-term impact in someone’s herd. A female that only gets better as each day passes. She will be an Illini Classic Sale highlight! Video available at www.mudcreekfarms.com and our Facebook page.

She injects added power and substance in an eye appealing and super sound structured package. Full sisters were sale attractions in our Top Cut sale and Foggy Bottom’s online sale, selling for $6,500 and $12,500 respectfully as well as a maternal sister at $17,500. 15D herself is elegant in her makeup, good lined and flat shouldered with added body and width. 15D should be a big time breeding piece as well.

• Sabrina is a big, powerful first calf heifer that had a bull calf by Wildcat Baby Legacy 4014 ET on Nov. 11, 2016, her second birthday. She is sired by National Champion CRR About Time and is out of the second-best cow that we own. She has lots of milk for a heifer. Her bull calf ’s sire was a son of Wildcat’s National Champion Cow/Calf and by Times A Wastin, a national champion in his own right. That makes her calf a double-bred CRR About Time. With both deceased, he should have some value.

• Leon is a medium framed bull who is dark red in color and has good eye set with nice pigment. Leon has a nice disposition and comes from one of our best cow families with 1813 and 307 being two of the best cows on the farm. His low birth weight coupled with his genomically enhanced EPDs, that are very high in most traits that make him an excellent bull to use on heifers and cows. Leon has a very small scur on one side.

• This young herd sire has as much thickness down his top as any we’ve ever raised. He’s moderate in his frame and should work good for heifers. You’ll like his deep red color and sound structure. • We are offering an IVF aspiration on one the most successfully shown Hereford females in 2016 in the Midwest. DeLHawk Buffy 82C “Red” was named Champion Hereford Female at both the American Royal junior show and World Beef Expo. She won her division at NAILE and at both the Junior and Open Shows at the Illinois State Fair. She was also Reserve Grand at the IJHA Preview Show and Reserve Grand overall all breeds at IBA Jackpot Show. Paige and Red are an example of the desire of many families to find and show a powerful, cool looking Hereford female. Here is an opportunity to fast-track into producing those highly sought after show heifers.

• The buyer pays all costs and receives everything up to ten (10) embryos, everything after that is split 50/50. We will guarantee at least six (6) embryos and two 90-day pregnancies with conventional semen and one (1) pregnancy if flushed with sorted female semen.

• She is due to calve in March and we would predict she would be ready to IVF in May or June of 2017. Her mother, the Burgundy donor, was the most prolific embryo producer at DeLHawk. We expect 82C to excel as an embryo producer as she has in showring.

• Embryos out of our new and up coming donor. She was the high selling bred heifer in last year’s Illinois Beef Expo sale. She is a long, powerful Back N Time and Destiny cow that went straight to the donor pen after her first calf.

• Selling choice lot of 3 embryos per mating. Guarantee one (1), 90-day pregnancy per mating. These bulls need no introduction to the Hereford breed. Buy either of the matings with confidence.

• Hot, fresh and proven genetics! A full sib to these embryos sold for $50,000 at the DeLHawk sale this past fall. Yasmine is an About Time daughter who is easy on the eyes. She is powerful and broody and has produced elite heifers and sale toppers. Two three-quarter sibs to these embryos were named division champions at JNHE in Madison this past summer. Her first set of daughters are in production now and have made beautiful cows. If you are in the business to buy and raise elite show heifers, buy these embryos. You’ll be happy that you did.
