GREETINGS FROM THE PRESIDENT

Wow - 25 years ago we started a small little Fall Fair celebrating local agriculture and country living. From these humble beginnings we are now the largest Fall Fair in the West Kootenay’s and have been awarded best small Fall Fair in B.C. in

2013. We are so proud of our Fall Fair and the Community Support that has helped it grow.

Pass Creek Fall Fair is a family friendly Agricultural Exhibition held this Sept. 22nd & 23rd. Please enter as many exhibit classes as you can. Challenge your family, neighbours & friends. We want to be voted Best Small Fair in B.C. in 2018 to celebrate our 25th year. We need your entries to make this happen.

Our Fair is an opportunity to celebrate the unique culture, heritage and talent of our community. We are very proud to

feature local talented artists, delicious food & great entertainment. Our Fair happens each year by a core group of hard working volunteers, who donate many hundreds of hours to organize

this annual event. The Fair would like to thank all supporters in the community for their efforts, be it financial, material, hard work, time or effort. With your kind generosity, we are excited to celebrate our 25th Annual Fall Fair.

Please check out our website www.passcreekfair.com for our exciting line up of entertainment and attractions. Fall Fair information, entry forms for vendors and exhibitors are on line. It’s going to be an awesome Fall Fair! Please take the “FREE” bus to the Fairgrounds supplied by Mountain Transport Institute both Saturday & Sunday, this will

help eliminate any parking issues. $2.00 paid parking, all monies go to the Castlegar Air Cadets.

Our Society is all about affordable fun so come out and experience an Old-Fashioned Country Fair - gate fees are kept low again so families can enjoy the Fair. Looking forward to seeing you at the Fall Fair

LETTER FROM KATRINE CONWAY, MLA

Pass Creek Regional Exhibition Society 2018 Fall Fair It’s once again the time of year that everyone in Castlegar and the surrounding area looks forward to – the Fall Fair! This year the fair celebrates its 25th anniversary, which means that for many young people in our region it has been a part of their whole lives. Country fairs are a significant part of life in rural parts of our province. They are not just a way for our community to come together for entertainment, but they are an expression of who we are. We are proud of our talents, our skills, our arts, our hard work, and our beautiful surroundings, and the Fall Fair brings all this together every year for us all to show off and to enjoy. The Pass Creek Regional Exhibition Society and volunteers have been a tireless team of people who work throughout the year to bring this exceptional fair to Castlegar. Let’s thank them for a quarter century of hard work and making memories! Wishing everyone a happy Fall Fair weekend, Katrine Conroy, MLA Kootenay West [email protected] 1-888-755-0556

PLEASE LEND A HAND

Fall Fair is growing every year. More hands are needed to make everything run smoothly.

JUDGES!

Judges are required to taste test the baking, pickles and relish.

We also need judges for fresh fruit, sewing and anyone interested in any of the entries. A minimum of two judges are adequate, but three or more are ideal.

Judges need not be experts in these fields - we have guidelines and points to judge by. Judging the youth entries is fun. It

is surprising how talented these youngsters are.

Judging is done starting at 5pm Friday evening 21st September. Give it a try you may enjoy it!

HELPING HANDS!

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons need helping hands. This is when folks bring in the exhibits to be entered and placed on the tables. If there are folks out there who have a few hours to spare and wish to help in a worthy event please

phone us, at 250-365-7273. If there is no answer please leave a message, as I am busy on the fair grounds.

DATES AND TIMES!

The dates we will need help this year are:

Wednesday September 19TH & Thursday 20th 12 pm to 8pm Friday September 21st12:00 to 4:30pm

The shifts are two to three hours or longer, if you have the time. Friday 21st is the busiest time, noon to 4:30pm requires many hands.

Please lend a hand; more hands make the task much easier and more enjoyable
