WATER PROJECTS
Wemlinger Water Treatment Plant – Finished Water Reservoir & CT Improvements
The project will address chlorine contact time issues as well as the structural repairs required to maintain the finished water reservoir. The structure is failing with visible rebar in some walls. Cleaning activities are stripping concrete and the interior piping has rust pockets. These repairs keep the facility operational and could address meeting the regulations for chlorine contact time based on new baffling factors proposed by CDPHE
in 2014. Fall 2017 $3-5 Million
Quincy Reservoir Intertie and Aeration System Improvements
Rehabilitation of existing and construction of new vault structures that make up the Quincy Intertie. Installation of a new linear diffuser in the Quincy Reservoir. Winter 2017 $1,500,000 - $2,000,000
Spinney Reservoir Dam V Ditch
The concrete V ditch which extends 200-300 LF along the north downstream groin of the dam is in need of repair. There is also a seep area that is holding water adjacent to the ditch which needs to be collected in a drain pipe with capability of monitoring flows. This project is a requirement of the SEO. Summer 2017 $50,000 -$100,000
Strontia Reservoir PRV station polyjet rehabilitation and improvements
This project comes from a condition assessment that was completed in 2016 of the entire Strontia Reservoir water system. The two 42” polyjet valves need to be rehabilitated/ and or replaced due to deterioration. Additionally this project will package in general site improvements including road widening and possibly slope stabilization, as well as electrical improvements to the PRV station. This project may be broken up into several packages. Summer 2017 $750k – $1Mil
New Transmission and Distribution Water Mains
This project will be a program management project consisting of the installation of several new potable T&D lines to the north of the City in support of expanding development. Lines will vary in size from 30” – 60”. This project will be phased. Fall/Winter 2017 $4-6 Million
Rampart Waterlines Rehabilitation Phase IV
This project includes the rehabilitation of blow-off and air vacuum release valves on the 40” Rampart Waterline. Also included is installation of a few new in-line valves and the removal of one in-line valve.
Fall/Winter 2017
$2.5-3 Million
Aurora Reservoir Outlet Tower Rehabilitation- Below Water Work
Rehabilitation/repair of many parts of the Aurora Reservoir outlet tower including the HPU and gates. The work will consist of all work to be done underwater and will require a specialized diving firm. All 5 gates will need to be pulled and re-coated, as well as running new conduits along the length of the gate structure, installing a new bubbler system and other small rehabilitation items.
Summer 2017
$300,000-$500,000
6th & Airport PRV
Rehabilitation of an existing pressure reducing valve (PRV) station at 6th & Airport. Improvements will include new piping, valves, SCADA communication and safety equipment.
Summer / Fall 2017
$1Milion -$1.5Million
2017 Annual Waterline Replacement
Annual waterline replacement of areas in the City with increased frequency of breaks or corroded pipes. This project will consist of replacement of approximately 6400 LF in the area of Buckley/Yale.
Spring 2017
$2 Million
STORMWATER PROJECTS
Project Lansing Street Storm Sewer Extension
Description The subject storm sewer was evaluated in 2015 and identified as collapsed. A collapsed pipe system conveying flows across Colfax Avenue presents a significant hazard to the travelling public. This project rehabilitates the collapsed CMP pipe and extends the storm sewer system to provide a gravity outfall.
Timing Summer / Fall 2017 Projected Cost $650,000 - $800,000
Project Florida & Fulton Storm Sewer Improvements
Description This project addresses the insufficient storm sewer system which is creating a nuisance for nearby business uses and the discharge of street R.O.W. onto and across private, undeveloped property. Currently a design effort is underway to identify the routing of these uncontained flows to minimize disruption of the private property owner's use of the property and how best to efficiently remove the incidental detainage currently creating an objectionable condition for neighboring properties.
Timing Spring 2017 Projected Cost $600,000 - $650,000
Lowry & 11th Storm System Outfall
The 11th Avenue outfall is located on the north side of the Lowry Campus. A portion of the Lowry Campus located near the northeast corner of the site is considered annexed COA. The City is obligated to provide utility service to the site. The subject property contains an educational use known as the H.E.A.T. campus. Once developed, storm flows will overwhelm the existing system downstream of the campus. Extension of the on-site storm system is required. 4th quarter 2017 $250,000 -$500,000
SANITARY SEWER PROJECTS
Annual Manhole Lining and Rehabilitation – Phase 3
Phase II will address the lining of Sanitary Manholes that display structural, infiltration and sever corrosion issues. The lining material in Phase II will include Epoxy/Polyurea/Polyurethane and some fiberglass inserts. Summer 2017 $500,000
Lowery Sewer Connection
This project will complete the sanitary sewer line to connect the Lowry Redevelopment Authority to Aurora’s system. Fall/Winter 2017 $250,000 - $300,000
High Plains Lift Station Force Main
After investigation it was determined that there is a section of pipe that does not connect two manholes to allow for proper flow into the Lift Station. This project will consist of constructing this area of missing 12” FM pipe. Approximately 300 LF. Summer 2017 $150,000
