SALES PITCH VS. REALITYSALES PITCH: Actual language from a 911 solution provider web site:“If first responders do not have the caller’s precise location information from the start, they will have no idea where to go when they arrive on scene”

REALITY: While the statement is completely true, it is VERY MUCH out of context. Do they know where Cube 2C-231 is?Do they have access to the facility?Do they need internal badge access?Who do they coordinate with onsite?How do THOSE people get the information they need?

REALITY: While the statement is, again true, it means the PLAN is absent. This is why ON-SITE Situational Awareness is critical NO ONE should have to look for a panelNO ONE should have to locate securityA policy and response plan should be established with local Public Safety resources as part of the implementation
