aspects of IEEE– some issues are also indicated at HQ level

Objectives

ACTIVITY 1Industry Forums at R10 Conferences

R10 will promote industrial or entrepreneurial forums in conferences managed by the Region and its Sections.This project is expected to boost industrial involvement in the activity of the organization and development & implementation plan of new technology — while opening opportunities for collaborations. The OU (i.e. Section) interested should send brief proposal to [email protected] before April 1st. The proposal should mention the UVP of the forum in relation to the conferences.R10 will support max 100% budget for small sections, max 75% for medium sections, and max 50% for large sections. Sections should provide additional budget, or find donations for these events. R10 will support no more than US$ 500 per forum.

ACTIVITY 2 Collaborative Industrial Innovations

R10 will organize seminar series – in both online & offline forms – exploring practical cases of collaborative innovations in industrial and entrepreneurial world.This project aims to encourage IEEE members (from the industry) & enterprises to use the organization as a framework for formal & informal collaborations in new technological frontiers. The OU interested should send brief proposal to [email protected] before April 1st. The proposal should mention the UVP of the seminar, and the number of members & professionals involved.R10 will support max 100% budget for small sections, max 75% for medium sections, max 50% for large sections. Sections should provide additional budget, or find donations for these events. R10 will support no more than US$ 800 per forum.

ACTIVITY 3IEEE Day – Industry Events Competition

R10 members are invited to carry out industrial events in September–October 2017 and send the brief reports to the R10. The R10 will select & award the best events.This activity aims to improve IEEE members’ engagement in industrial theme & activities; and provide the way to learn from each other. Any member may carry out the industry event in September–October 2017, and send the brief report to [email protected] Industry Relations Committee will select 10 winners, and publish the result in November 2017 in R10 publications, web, and social media. Each winner will be awarded with Certificates and US$ 100 in Membership voucher.

APPENDIXIEEE milestones program• Objectives:▪ IEEE milestones program honors significant technicalachievements in all areas associated with IEEE.▪ IEEE milestones recognize the technological innovation andexcellence for the benefit of humanity found in unique products,services, seminal papers and patents.▪ IEEE milestones honor the achievement, rather than a place or aperson.▪ To be proposed as an IEEE milestone, an achievement must be atleast 25 years old, have benefited humanity, and must have hadat least regional importance.

APPENDIXIEEE milestones program• Process:▪ IEEE member submit a proposal on IEEE milestones wiki.▪ At least one IEEE organizational unit ‐ section, society, chapter, orstudent branch – sponsors the proposal. ▪ An advocate is appointed.▪ The advocate reviews the proposal and recommends an action toHistory committee.▪ If History committee approves, it submits the proposal to Board ofdirectors for the final approval.▪ If Board of directors approves the proposal, the sponsoringorganizational unit plans the dedication ceremony.
