The School of Missouri Contemporary Ballet’s mission is to cultivate the artistic and personal development of our students by providing a supportive environment of dance study to motivate and inspire. The 2-week summer intensive is designed to give serious students an opportunity to train under MCB’s Artistic Director, Karen Mareck Grundy, as well as guest teachers from across the country. Students will enjoy a rigorous schedule, dancing 6-7 hours a day, focusing on ballet and modern technique, supplemented by Pilates, jazz, and contemporary repertoire, culminating with an end-of-program performance.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Resume, headshot, and first arabesque photo are required. If you are unable to attend an on-site audition, you may submit a DVD to:110 Orr Street, Suite 102 | Columbia, MO 65201

$30 DVD Audition fee

Videos should be no longer than 5 minutes and must include ballet center work consisting of pirouettes, adagio, petite & grand allegro, and pointe work. A contemporary solo (no longer than 1 minute) is also preferred.

Results will be sent within three weeks of the audition.

TUITION

Full 2-week attendance or partial attendance permitted2 WEEKS : $630.00 | WEEKLY RATE: $350.00

HOUSING

HOST FAMILY: Limited host-family housing is available for $250/week. This fee covers housing, all meals, and transportation. Once matched, host family information will be given to the incoming dancer’s family.

EXTENDED-STAY-HOTELS: There are several affordable options for extended-stay hotels within 10 miles of the studio. Prices TBD.
