Just B Solar engages in education and information outreach for youth about renewable energy in under resourced and under developed communities. What’s it all about? During this one week camp, youth gather to learn from local leaders in the solar arena. They build self-sufficiency by learning how to work in teams to create their very own solar boats and solar villages. They engage in the emerging field of renewable energy by building relationships with electricians, solar installers, solar marketers, and more. And they have a chance to share their life story and to dream about emerging opportunities in solar energy! Keith Dent, Just B Solar founder, talks about how it got started and how you can help:

I’m a local solar installer, and I came up with the concept of the camp while attending a conference. I've listened to a few politicians, policymakers, and innovators talk about solar. Their presentations take the fun out of it. I said to myself, who better to put the fun back into solar than kids? My next thought: how can I share info with the youth from my community on a regular basis? The answer was to merge education with a fun approach, and Just B Solar was born. I think fun is how we keep kids engaged and why they learn so much so quickly.

We’re asking you to help fund our program so that children can have the opportunity to be a part of the solar revolution. Funding will help cover the cost for solar kits, tuition, materials, field trips, snacks, staffing, transportation, and so much more! Our goal is to raise the funds by July 14th, 2017.
