The global MSSP market will grow at a 16.6 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2016 through 2022, according to Allied Market Research. North America is the largest MSSP market in terms of spending. However, Asia-Pacific (20.3 percent CAGR) is the fastest-growing MSSP region.

The vast majority of large MSSPs run the bulk of their security operation centers (SOCs) in-house, while many midmarket MSSPs leverage a hybrid approach. The vast majority of small MSPs introducing managed security services outsource their SOCs because of a variety of factors -- including talent constraints, costs and scalability requirements. MSSP Alert believes most traditional MSPs will partner with larger MSSPs rather than build out full-blown managed security services on their own.


MSSP Alert survey participants were asked to describe which three vendors most greatly assist their managed security services efforts. The most-mentioned vendors are listed above. In a clear sign of market fragmentation, survey participants mentioned 46 different hardware, software, cloud, and services vendors that assist their MSSP efforts.
