Jaihind college of Engineering celebrated Hindu festival in honour of the
elephant-headed god, Ganesha. The festival is celebrated in public and at home.
The public celebration involves installing clay images of Ganesha in public
pandals (temporary shrines) and group worship. The festival generally lasts ten
days, ending on the fourteenth day of the fortnight (Anant Chaturdashi) ,But
college celebrated this festival for 5days in well mannered & disciplined. Funds for
this festival are collected from members of the association, students &staff
arranging the celebration. The Ganesha idols and accompanying statues are
installed in temporary shelters, known as mandaps or pandals
At college, an appropriately-sized clay image is installed and worshiped by
students with the faculties. Aartis are performed with all students & staff typically
in the morning and evening.
The primary sweet dish during the festival is modak. Also Modak & Tug-of-
war competition held at college premises during festival for promoting students to
show their hidden talent of cooking, drawing & managerial skills. Various variety
of Modakas judged by organizer Committee & given prizes for best innovative
Modakas.

It was really very good organized event & students also shown very good response by
participation in large numbers.
At the end of the festival, the idols are immersed (and dissolve) in a body of water such
as a lake or pond.
