5 TECHNICAL 5.1 Introduction:

a. ThefollowingtechnicalregulationsaresetoutinaccordancewithMSAspecifiedformatanditshouldbeclearlyunderstoodthatifthefollowingtextsdonotclearlystatethatyoucandoit,youshouldadopttheprincipalthatyoucannot.

b. Anything that is not explicitly authorised in writing by the Championship TechnicalCommittee and anything that is not specified either in these regulations or in anyOfficialChampionship Bulletin is therefore strictly forbidden and as a result will be regarded as abreach of these Technical Regulations and may be penalised as described in section 4. Itshould be clearly understood that technical regulations will be strictly enforced and anymodification,addition,variation,tuningorremovalotherthanspecificallypermittedintheseregulationsisprohibited.

c. Regulations that have changed in substance from the 2017 CTCRC TOYO TIRES PRE-2005TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP Technical Regulations are normally indicated by beinghighlighted.

5.1.1 TechnicalQueries:

Any matter affecting Technical Regulations must be put in writing to the Championship EligibilityScrutineer, as any claim to have received clarifications or rulings on the Regulations must besubstantiatedbytheproduction,ondemand,ofwrittenconfirmationofsuchrulings.

5.2 Description:5.2.1 General

a. The CTCRC Pre-2005 Production Touring Car Series is for competitors participating in two-wheel drive, four-seat saloon/hatchback or coupé cars marketed in the UK between 1stJanuary 1993 and 31st December 2004 of which more than 5000 examples weremanufactured in any 12-month period during the overall production run and/or werehomologatedbyFIAforcompetitioninGroupNcategoryforproductioncarsbetweenthesedates.

b. AllcarsaresubjecttoapprovalofeligibilitybytheChampionshipOrganisers.c. EnginesmustnotexceedFOURcylindersd. Enginecapacitynottoexceed2000cc(pluspermittedoverbore).e. Turbo-chargedorsuper-chargedvehiclesarenoteligible.f.Hondatypermodelsarenoteligible

5.2.2 Eligibility:

a. AllcarsaresubjecttoapprovaloftheireligibilitybytheChampionshipOrganisers.b. TheresponsibilitytoproveeligibilityisthatoftheCompetitoratalltimes.Forclarificationof

aCompetitorrefertotheMSAYearbook2018Section(B)Nomenclature&Definitions.c Proof of a vehicles’ eligibility may be substantiated by production of a Historic Technical

Passport (HTP) or Homologation papers stamped by the ASN. These documents, whereissued,forthatvehicleandthesemustbeavailableforinspectionwhenrequired.

d. Whereno suchpaperwork is available, theCompetitormust producewritten confirmationfromtheChampionshipOrganisersastotheeligibilityofthevehiclemodelinquestion.

e. The Championship Organisers in conjunction with a Licensed Eligibility Scrutineer shalldetermine matters as to the eligibility and the implementation which may involvephotographing any part of the vehicle and performing electrical diagnostics at thescrutineer’sdiscretion.

5.2.3 Unlessspecificallypermittedintheseregulations,allcomponentsmustbetooriginalManufacturersStandardSpecification/Pattern.i. STANDARD: The word ‘standard’ used within these technical regulations as a description of

components is tobe interpretedasper ‘StandardPart’defined inSectionB–Nomenclature&definitionsintheMSABlueBook.Checkingwillbebycomparisontosparepartssuppliedbythemanufacturer’sofficialagent,comparisontostandardpartsorbyanyothermeansnecessarytoensurecompliance.StandardPart:Isapart,thespecification,features, locationandmethodofoperationof a part are as providedwhennewby themotormanufacturer for themodel anddateofcarasshownontheentryform.

ii. STANDARDPATTERN:Thephrase‘standardpattern’usedwithinthesetechnicalregulationsasadescriptionofcomponentsistobeinterpretedasper‘StandardPatternPart’definedinSectionB – Nomenclature & definitions in the MSA Blue Book. Checking will be by comparison tostandard pattern part or any othermeans necessary to ensure compliance. Standard PatternPart:Areplacementpartthathasasimilarformshapeandfeaturesasthestandardpartandismadeusingsimilarmaterialsandmanufacturingprocessese.g.astandardpart,manufacturedbyanon-originalequipmentsupplierthatisfullyinterchangeablewiththestandardpart.

5.2.4 ClassStructure:

5.2.4.1 TheClassStructurewillbebasedontheoriginalManufacturersspecifiedproductionhorsepowerfor

thevehicle. Thefollowingwillbeused:-

ClassA Above160BHPClassB 140BHPto159BHPClassC 0to139BHP

5.2.4.2 InvitationCompetitorsa. CompetitorswithVehiclesnotcomplyingwiththeseregulationsmaybeinvitedtocompete

subjecttoChampionshipOrganisersapproval.b. Vehicles that, whilst not strictly adhering to the regulations, have been prepared

sympathetically to the spirit of the championship and with Championship Organisersapproval,maybeinvitedtoraceunderobservation.

c. CompetitorswishingtoraceasInvitationmustsubmitawrittenspecificationoftheirvehicle,to theCo-ordinator. Itmustdetail all areaswhere the vehicledoesnot complywith theseregulations.Thisspecificationshallbemadeavailabletotheeligibilityscrutineersforpreandposteventchecks.

d. Invitation vehicles will be invited by the Championship Organisers on a race by race andindividualvehiclebasis.Thevehiclemustnotdeviatefromthespecificationsubmitted,unlesssuch changes are approved by the Championship Organisers. Any approval may bewithdrawnatanytimebytheChampionshipOrganisers.

e. Invitationcompetitorswillnoteligiblefor:-i. Podiumrecognitionii. Championshipaward/trophiesii. Championshippoints.

5.2.5 Presentation:a. Atthestartofeachfreepractice,qualifyingsessionorrace,thecarsmustbepresentedtoa

high standardandmustbe cleanand ingoodorder. TheChampionshipOrganisers reservetherighttoforbidcarsnotmeetingthisrequirementfromtakingpart.

b. PresentationofavehicleforscrutineeringisadeclarationbytheCompetitorthatthevehicleiseligibleforthatevent.

5.2.6 TechnicalChecking:

a. The Championship Eligibility Scrutineer / Championship Organisers reserve the right toinspect,test,measure,sealorimpoundanycomponentfittedtoorusedinconjunctionwithany car registered in the Championship either personally or through a nominatedrepresentative.ThecostsofsuchcheckingshallbebornebytheCTCRCbuttheCTCRCshallnotbeliableforthecostsofstrippingorreassemblyofvehiclesafterthecheckshavebeen

carried out. This will be the sole responsibility of the Competitor. Exceptions to this mayincludeappeal/protestaccordingtotheMSAYearbook2018.

b. Any breach of the Technical Regulations or a breach of the procedure surrounding theTechnicalRegulationswillbethesubjectofareporttotheClerkoftheCourse.

c. Acarfoundtobeineligibleforthechampionshipmustraceonlyintheinvitationclassandnopointswillbescoreduntilthevehicleconformstotheregulations.

d. AnycomponentsealedbyanMSALicensedScrutineermustremainsealedandmaynotbetampered with in any way. In the event of a seal needing to be broken for repair orreplacement,prior todoing so theChampionshipEligibilityScrutineermustbe informed inwritingandapprove thesealbeingbroken.Re-sealingbyanMSAChampionshipScrutineerwilltakeplaceaftertechnicalcheckshavebeenmadeatthenextracemeeting.

e. If a vehicle/component is sealed for subsequent technical examination the ChampionshipEligibilityScrutineer,withintheapplicabletimelimit,willstatetotheCompetitor/Competitorthat hewill examine the vehicle/component on a stated date and time and at a specifiedlocation and the sealed items must be made available for his inspection. Thesearrangements are not negotiable. If a vehicle/component is not made available for aneligibility examination as required by the Championship Eligibility Scrutineer, it will beconsidered as ineligible and will be reported as such to the Clerk of the Course for theapplication of penalties laid down under MSA Regulations and these ChampionshipRegulations.

5.2.6 TechnicalPassport:

a. All Competitors/Drivers are issued with a Technical Passport. This is used to recordinformationrelatingtothatcarduringtheseason.

b. The Competitor/Driver is responsible for the safe keeping of the passport, which shall becarriedinthecaratalltimes.

c. AllcarsareissuedwithaTechnicalPassportwallet.d. No car is permitted to take part in an Event unless the Technical Passport is available for

inspectionandisatruereflectionofthevehicledetails.e. Theonlypersonauthorisedtomakechangestothedetailsof theTechnicalPassport is the

ChampionshipEligibilityScrutineerorhisappointedrepresentative.f. MissingTechnicalPassportswillbethesubjectofareporttotheClerkoftheCourse.g. DetailscontainedwithintheTechnicalPassportmustbesubmittedbytheCompetitoratthe

time of registration for the Championship. A Registration will not be accepted withoutsubmissionoftherelevantdetails.

5.3 SafetyRequirements:5.3.1 AllMSAYearbook2018,Section(K),CompetitorSafetyCriteriaRegulations,applyasrelevantunless

statedherein.5.3.2 SafetyRoll-OverStructures:-(K)1to(K)1.8)applies

a. Allvehiclesmustbefittedwithasafetyroll-overstructureasdefined intheMSAYearbook2018-SectionK

b. Interiorfittings,trimandbodyworkmaybelocallymodifiedtoallowfittingofthesafetyroll-overstructureandanydoorbars.

c. Carsrunningnon-steeldoorsmustbefittedwithdoubledoorbarsonthedriver’sside,eithercrossedorparallel.

c. Itispermittedtoattachthesafetyroll-overstructuretothebodyshellatadditionalpointsinexcesstothemandatorymountingpointsasdetailedintheMSAYearbook2018-SectionK.

5.3.3 FireExtinguisher:(K3toK3.5applies)

a. All vehicles must be equipped with a fire extinguisher. MSA Yearbook 2018 Regulation Q19.14.7applies

b. The fire extinguisher must not be disarmed in any Parc Fermé area without the specificpermission of the Championship Eligibility Scrutineer. Any Competitor that is foundwith adisarmedfireextinguisherinParcFerméforwhateverreasonwillbepenalised.

c. Thefollowinginformationmustbeclearlydisplayedoneachfireextinguisher: i) Typeofextinguishantiii) Weightorvolumeofextinguishant

d. It is recommended that the following information is clearly displayed on each fireextinguisher:i) Capacityii) Servicedateofextinguisher.Itisrecommendedthatitmustbelessthan2yearssince

thefillingdateorthelastservicedate.e. DuringEventsallextinguishersystemsmustbeinthe‘ARMED’condition(i.e.becapableof

being operatedwithout the removal of any safety device) at all timeswhile competing orpractising,includingpost-Eventscrutineering.

f Theexternal triggeringpointmustbepositioned close to the circuit breaker (or combinedwith it) andmustbemarkedby the letter “E” in red insideawhite circleofat least10cmdiameterwitharededgeinaccordancewithMSAYearbook2016Regulation(K)3.2.2

5.3.4 MainExternalCircuitBreaker:

a. AMainExternalCircuitBreakerincompliancewiththe2018MSAYearbookSection(K)8.ismandatory.

b. TheswitchlocationmustbeidentifiedbyaRedSparkonawhiteedgedbluetrianglewithabaseofatleast12cm.andthe‘On’and‘Off’positionsclearlymarked.

c. The circuit breaker when ‘operated’ must isolate all electrical circuits, data loggers,transponders,etc.

d. Whenthecircuitbreakeris‘operated’theremustbenopowersourcecapableofkeepingtheenginerunning.

e The triggering system for the circuit breaker should be situated at the lower part of thewindscreenmounting,preferablyonthedriver’ssideorbelowtherearwindow.

5.3.5 Lights: Lightsdetailed inChampionshipRegulations5.10.5mustbe inworkingorder throughout theentire

Event.

5.3.6 SeatandSeatMounting:(K2.2.applies)a. TheSeatandSeatMountingshallcomplywiththeMSAYearbook2018Regulation(K)2.2and

(K)2.3b. ItisrecommendedthattheDriver’sseatisaracingseatwithacurrentFIAhomologation.c. Additional seat padding is permitted to a maximum of 50mm. Any additional padding or

coveringplacedontheseatmustbefireretardanttoFIAstandard8855-1999.d The seatmountings shall be appropriate to the seat fitted (and complyingwith FIAArticle

253.16)mustbeused.

5.3.7 SeatBelts:-(K2.1.applies)a. Mandatoryuseofseatbelts.MSAYearbook2018Regulation(Q)19.14.2applies.b. Seatbeltsfitted,theseatbeltsmustcomplywithChampionshipRegulation5.3.7c.to5.3.7e.

inclusive.c. TheDriver’sseatbeltsmusthaveacurrentFIAhomologation.d. Itismandatorytouseseatbelts,withaminimum‘fourpoint’configuration.Complyingwith

theMSAYearbookRegulation2018(K)2.1.2e. Seatbeltsmustbewornandbecorrectlyadjustedatalltimesduringevents:(Twoshoulder

strapsandonelapstrap,withfouranchoragepointsonthechassis/bodyshellorrolloverbarofthevehicle).

5.3.8 RaceClothing:(K9.1andK9.3applies)a. Competitorsarestronglyadvisedtowearflameresistant,socks,underwearandbalaclava.b. Flameresistantglovesandshoesaremandatory.MSAYearbook2018Regulation(Q)10.1(c)

applies.

5.3.9 CrashHelmet.

Crash helmets must comply with the requirements of MSA Yearbook 2018 (K) 10.1 to (K) 10.4applies).

5.3.10 FHR.

Mandatory for all forms of circuit racingwith the exception of period defined vehicles (pre-1977),whichwillremainasarecommendation.MSAYearbook2018(Q)10.1.e.applies.

5.4 GeneralTechnicalRequirementsandExceptions:a. AllvehiclesmustcomplywithMSAGeneralTechnicalRegulationsandtherelevantpartsof

SectionsJ&QoftheMSAYearbook2018exceptwherespecifiedbelow.b. Vehiclesmaybebroughtuptoanyseriesproductionspecificationsforthatmodelpriorto1st

January 2005. For the avoidance of doubt, 'model' shallmean a vehicle of the same bodyshellshape,size,specificationandsilhouette.

c. Any component listed on the MSA, FIA/FISA (or national equivalent for foreign cars)homologationpapersforuse inGroupOneduringtheseriesproductionofthatmodelmaybesubstitutedfortheoriginalproductioncomponentprovidedthatthesubstitutepartwasinproductionorhomologatedpriorto1stJanuary2005.TheresponsibilitytoproveeligibilityisthatoftheCompetitoratalltimes.

d. Nocomponentmaybesubstitutedwhichservestoaltertheshapeorsizeofthebodyshelland/orpanelsthemselvesorincreasesthecapacityoftheenginebeyondthatwhichwasinproduction or homologated prior to 1st January 2005. Full details of optional equipmentmustbesubmittedtotheCTCRCforpossibleinclusiononavehiclebyvehiclebasispriortothatitemofequipmentbeingfitted.

e. Fixingcomponentssuchasnuts,screws,washers,lockwashers;springwashers,etc.arefreeandmaybeupgraded.

f. It is permitted to repair faulty threadsby theuseof Keen Inserts/Helicoils.Where threadinsertsareutilisedtheoriginalthreaddiameterandpitchmustberespected.

g. WithintheseTechnicalRegulationstheword“standard”,“original”or“patternPart”usedasa description of components is to be interpreted as: “The specified component from thefactoryorthemanufacturersorimporterspartslist,priorto1stJanuary2005.forthemodelorengineshownontheentryformorregistrationform.

h. Nomodificationsarepermittedbeyondtherepairoradjustmentprocessesspecifiedbythefactory or the manufacturer”. Eligibility checking will be by comparison to spare partssuppliedbythemanufacturer’sofficialagent.

j. “Free”asreferredtointheseTechnicalRegulationsshallmeanbeinterpretedas“withinthelimitationsimposedbytheMSAYearbook2018Regulations”.

j. AdvertisingonvehiclesissubjecttorequirementssetoutinMSAYearbook2018Regulation(H)29.1.2&(H)29.1.3.

k. CompetitorsregisteringdosointhefullknowledgethatCTCRCreservestherighttorequiretheEligibilityScrutineertocarryout,recordandenforceeligibilitycheckswhichmayincludethe sealing of component(s) for subsequent checking. The costs of such checking shall bebornebytheCTCRCbuttheCTCRCshallnotbeliableforthecostsofstrippingorreassemblyofvehiclesafterthecheckshavebeencarriedout

5.5 Chassis:

a. Thechassisasproducedbythemanufacturerwiththeoriginalmaterialmustberetainedinallaspectsinrespectofmaterial,thickness&contour.

b. The addition of chassis material or strengthening of chassis, or chassis members, isprohibited.

c. Lighteningorreducingofchassis,orchassismemberstrength,isprohibited.d. Seamweldingisnotpermitted.

5.5.1 Towingeyes/straps a. Mustbeacontrastingcolourtothesurroundingarea(usuallyeitherDay-Gloredoryellow)

andmustrespecttherequirementsofMSAYearbook2018(Q)19.1.3).b. Inadditionto5.5.6a. it is strongly recommendedthatall carsmust,whereverpossible,be

equipped with two front and two rear towing eyes positioned equally either side of the

longitudinal centre-line. Theymust be clearly visible,markedwith an arrow and theword“tow” and the wire painted in yellow, red or orange to contrast with the vehicle colourscheme.

Thetowingeyesmustbemadeofat least6mmdiametersteelwireropewitha6x19wirecore,eachwhichmusthaveabreaking-strainofatleast2tons.Eachtowingeyemustallowthepassageofacylinderwithadiameterof60mm,situated25mmforwardoftheadjacentbodywork-100mmaboveandbelowthisholemustretainclearancetoenabletherecoverycrewstoattachstrapsandshackles.

The towing eyemust be fixed to a structural part of the chassis with aminimum ofM12fixings,theinnerpartmustbeflexibleinorderforthetowingeyetoberetractedinsidethebodyworkprofile.A“pull-cord”mustbeattachedtothetowingeyetoenablethemarshalstoaccess thewire loop.Theendattached to thechassismaybeeither ‘thimble’or ‘open-loop’style.

5.6 Bodyworkanddimensions:5.6.1 General:

a. Bodyworkmustbecompleteandstandardinshapeandsilhouette,materialandthicknessonallexteriorsurfaces,unlessdetailedotherwiseinChampionshipRegulations5.6.3

b. Replacementofpanelswithnon-originalmaterialisprohibited.c. It is only permitted tomake holes in bulkheads for the passage of cables, fuel,water, oil,

hydraulic,instrumentorfireextinguisherlines.d. Allredundantholesmustbecoveredwithanon-flammablematerial.

5.6.2. Interior:a. Floorcarpets,underfelt,sounddeadening,headlining,frontandrearparcelshelves,centre

consoles, the front passenger seat, rear seats and trim in the boot/luggage compartmentmayberemoved.

b. Allinternalpanelsandsubassembliesmustremainasoriginallymanufactured.Strengtheningisnotpermitted.

c. Batterytraysandtheirsupportsmayberemoved.d. The dashboard must be retained as originally manufactured in original material. No

modificationsarepermitted.e. Instrumentationisfreeprovidedit isfittedwithintheexistingcutoutareasinthestandard

dashpanel(i.e.thespeedometerbinnacleortheaperturescreatedbytheremovalofheatercontrols/audioequipment)

f. Instrumentpodsotherthanthosesuppliedasstandardarenotpermitted.g. Theinteriordoortrimmustberetainedinoriginalorothernon-flammablematerial.h. Windowmechanismsmustremainasproductionandmustbeoperationali. Vehiclesmustbefittedwithatleastoneinteriorrear–viewmirror.Thefitmentofawide-

angleinteriorrearviewmirrorisrecommended.j. Driver’sseatisfreeprovidingChampionshipRegulation5.3.5isrespected.Thedrivermustbe

locatedentirelytoonesideofthecentrelineofthecar.Localmodificationsarepermittedforthepurposesofsecureandsafemounting

k. Heaters and interior ventilation systemsmay be removed. It is recommended to retain aheatingandde-mistingsystem.

l. Airconditioning/climatecontrolsystemsandtheirrelatedhardwaremayberemovedm. Astrutbracebetweenthefrontstruttowersmaybefitted.n. Astrutbracebetweentherearstruttowersmaybefitted.

5.6.3 Exterior:

a. Reworkingormodificationtoexteriorbodyworkisprohibitedbutanypartofthearch/wingpressingfoldedintothewheelarchmaybedeformed,butnotremoved,togiveclearancetothetyres.

b. Theoriginalbootandbonnethingesandfastenersmustberetained.c. Theoriginalbonnetandbootshutlinesmustbeasinproduction.d. All external trim must be retained except for external decorative strips which may be

removed.

e. Radiator grill slatsmust not be removedunless they are less than1” apart, if so alternateslatsmayberemoved.

f. Original glass windows shall be retained as per production. All original windowmountinghardware(i.e.mountingrubbers,sliders,guides,quarter-lightsandotherexternally visiblefeatures)mustberetained.

5.6.4 Silhouette: Bodyworkmustbecompleteandstandardinshapeandsilhouette.Anyitembelowthecentrelineof

thewheelmustnotprojectbeyondalinedrawnat45degreestothehorizontalandtangentialtothebodywork(notincludingover-riders).

5.6.5 Groundclearance:

a. Minimumgroundclearanceis100mmexcludingexhaustsandsilencers.b. WillbemeasuredwiththeDriveronboard(wearinghiscompleteracingapparel),c. WillbemeasuredwiththecarandDriverintheconditioninwhichtheycrosstheFinishLine

or at anyother timeduringanEvent andwithout the removalof any solidor fluidmatterincludingfuel.

d. RideheightwillbemeasuredonanyreasonablyflatsurfaceasdeemedbytheChampionshipEligibility Scrutineer or his nominated representative. In the event of any discrepancy thecircuitdesignatedflatpatchwillbeusedtomakeanyfinaljudgement

5.7 Engine:5.7.1 General:

a. All engine components must be the standard production components for the make andmodel registered andenteredunless statedotherwise inChampionshipRegulation Section5.7

b. thatmodel.Theorganisersmayrequirevehiclestobetestedforpoweroutput.SuchtestingVehiclesmustnotexceed110%of themanufacturerspublishedstandardpoweroutput forwillbedoneatanapprovedtestingfacilityorvehiclesmaybetestedatthecircuit.

b. Theoriginalsumpmustberetainedbutmaybebaffled.c. “Accusump”systemsarepermitted.

5.7.2 Drysumpsystemsareprohibited.5.7.3 CylinderBlock:

a. It ispermittedtore-borethestandardsizecylinderblockuptoamaximumofplus0.065”.(1.651mm)

b. Onlyoriginalmanufacturersover-sizepistonsarepermitted.

5.7.4 Cylinderhead: a. Cleaning and de-coking of cylinder heads is permitted but NOMETALMAY BE REMOVED

FROMANYPORTORCOMBUSTIONCHAMBER.b. Polishingandportingisprohibited.

5.7.5 Camshafts:-Vernieroradjustabletiminggearsarenotpermittedunlessfittedasstandard.5.7.6 Location:-Theenginemustbelocatedintheoriginalposition.5.7.7 Radiators:

a. Onlyoriginalproductionradiatorsarepermittedandmustremainintheiroriginallocation.b. The fitting of additionalwater radiators is permitted provided they are locatedwithin the

peripheryofthebodywork.c. The fitting of additional oil coolers is permitted provided they are located within the

periphery ofthebodywork.d. Modificationofthecoolingandoilsystemsarepermittedtofacilitatetheinstallationofitems

detailedinChampionshipRegulation5.7.7b.to5.7.7c.inclusive.

5.7.8 InductionSystems

a. Only the original production induction system is permitted unless modifications arepermittedwithintheChampionshipRegulations

Theapplicationofanymaterial(liquid,solidorgas)toanypart(s)ofatyreduringfreepractice,qualifyingsessionorraceisforbidden.Theonlyexceptionsaretheuseofamixtureofpuredomesticwaterandthelubricantappliedtothetyrebeadforfittingpurposes.

5.14 Weights:5.14.1 General:

a. TheprincipleistoequalisetheperformanceofthecarandDrivercombination.Theminimumcar/Driver weights excluding any success ballast, at the completion of every qualifyingsession and racemust be in accordancewithChampionshipRegulation5.14.2regardless oflapscompleted.

b. Itisforbiddentoaddanyliquid(s)orothermaterial(s)tothecar,ortosubstituteanypart(s)foraheavieroneduringqualifyingsessionorrace.

c. If aCar loses apartduringqualifyingor a race, theweightof thatpartmaybe taken intoaccount during eligibility checks. Following consultation, the Championship EligibilityScrutineerwilldeterminewhetheranylostpartshouldbetakenintoaccount.

d. There-distributionofweight inthecar,byreducingthegaugeorsectionofmaterial inanycomponentandbyaddingballastorincreasingmaterialelsewhere,isnotpermitted.Weightmayonlyberemovedwithinthelimitsofthemodificationsdetailedwithintheseregulations.

5.14.2 Minimumweight:

a. Theminimumweight is“inthecondition inwhichthevehicleandtheCompetitor(wearinghis complete racing apparel, scrutineered Race Suit, boots, gloves and helmet) includingminimumWeightBallastwhereapplicable,(seeChampionshipRegulation5.14.4crossesthefinishlineoratanyothertimeduringqualifyingorraceandwithouttheadditionorremovalofanysolidorfluidmatter”.ForthepurposeoftheRegulation,qualifyingorraceisdeemedtoincludeanytransfertoaplaceofposteventscrutinyasdirectedbyanofficial.

b. Stickers (in40mmwhite lettering) stating thecarsminimumweightare tobedisplayedontherearquarterwindows.Theminimumweightofthecarshouldbeasdetailedinregulation5.14.2

c. The minimum Car/Driver weights for each class, excluding any success ballast, at thecompletionofeveryqualifyingsessionandracemustbeinaccordancewiththefollowing:-

ClassA 1050Kg. ClassB 1000Kg. ClassC 950kg.

d. Itispermittedtocarryballasttoachieveminimumweight.

e. Theminimumweight ballast shall be carried in addition to and shall not form any part ofSuccessBallastweightasdefinedinChampionshipRegulation5.14.4

5.14.3 Ballast

a. Ballast required to achieve the minimum weight or success ballast as a performanceequalisationmeasuremustonlybeaddedinsidethecaronthefrontand/orrearpassengerfootwell.

b. Itisthecompetitor’sresponsibilitytoprovideandfittheirownballastifitisrequired,andtoensurethatballastisfittedinasafemanner.

c. Ballastmustbeattachedtotheshell/chassisviaatleast4mountingpointsusingboltswithaminimumdiameterof8mmeachwithsteelcounterplatesofatleast400sqmmsurfaceareaand3mmthickness.Ballastmountingsmust includeprovision for the fittingof scrutineer’swireseals.

d. The total weight of “minimum weight” or “success ballast” carried must be declared, inwritingtotheChampionshipEligibilityScrutineerand/orhisappointedrepresentativeandbeinposition,atalltimesduringpracticeandracing.

5.14.4 Minimumweightballast:

a. Itispermittedtocarryballasttoachieveminimumweight.b. Theminimumweight ballast shall be carried in addition to and shall not form any part of

SuccessBallastweightasdefinedinChampionshipRegulation5.14.2

5.14.4 SuccessBallast:a. Anyvehiclemayberequiredtocarrysuccessballastasaperformanceequalisationmeasure.

Such success ballast will be specified by the Technical Committee based upon theperformanceofthecarincompetition.

b. The Technical Committee reserves the right to review the weight handicaps at any timeduringtheChampionship.

c. Thesuccessballasthandicapiscarriedinadditiontothe‘Base’weightofthecarasdefinedinChampionshipRegulation5.14.2

d. Competitorswillbeinformedbyofficialbulletinoftheamountofweighttheymustcarry.e. Themaximumsuccessballastallocatedshallbe150kg.f. AnyvehiclewhichfailstocarrythesuccessballastspecifiedbytheTechnicalCommitteewill automaticallybedeemednottocomplywiththeTechnicalRegulations.

5.14.6 CompliancewithRegulation5.14.2and5.14.5willbecheckedpriortoremovaloffuelsamples.

5.15. FuelTank/Fuel:5.15.1 FuelTank:

a. Theoriginalfueltankmustberetainedinitsoriginalposition.b. Itispermittedtofitafueltankprotectionguard;itssolefunctionmustbetheprotectionof

thefueltank.ThedesignoftheguardmustbeagreedwiththeEligibilityScrutineerinwriting,beforebeingfittedtothecar.

5.15.2 Fuel:a. Only‘Pump’fuelasdefinedinSection(B)Nomenclature&DefinitionsoftheMSAYearbook

2018isallowed.b. AnMSAapprovedadditiveispermitted.c. Refuellingisnotpermittedduringqualifying,onthestartinggridorduringarace.

5.15.3 Theoriginalfuelpumpmustberetainedandbefittedinitsoriginalposition.

5.16 Silencing:a. All cars must conform to the current MSA noise requirements. MSA Yearbook 2018

Regulations(J)5.18.applies.b. SilencersarefreesubjecttocompliancewithMSAYearbook2018Regulations(J)5.17.

5.17 NumbersandChampionshipDecals:

6 APPENDICES

The following Commercial Undertakings are not subject to the Judicial procedures of either theChampionshipStewardsand/ortheMSA/MSC.

6.1 TheClassicTouringCarChampionshipisaimedatprovidingcloseracingforawidevarietyofcarsandit

must remain a non-contact sport at all times. The Organisers acknowledge that racing incidents dohappen,howevertherewillbenoacceptanceofanyaggressivedrivingofanykind.Inaccordancewiththe MSA regulations penalties will be applied to drivers who do not comply with this principle.Competitors are reminded that themajority of these cars are getting rare, to that extent parts aregetting to be harder to find andmost of these cars are not run on big budgets. Therefore, you arerequestedraceaccordingly, rememberingthis isclubracingand itshouldbeanenjoyableexperienceforeveryoneinvolved.

6.1.1 SocialMedia Driversandtheirsupportersareremindedabouttheuseofsocialmedia.Regulation6.1.1and6.1.2of

the Championship Regulations clearly states the position and anyone found in breach of Regulation6.1.1or6.1.2willbedealtwithaccordingly. Anegativeorderisorycommentonsocialmediacanbeseeninstantlybyalargenumberofpeople.Thismayincludeoneormoreofoursponsors,hencetheneedforrestraint.Therecanbe,andhavebeen,seriousconsequencescausedbythemisuseofsocialmedia.Therefore,ifadriverconsidersthattheyhaveagenuineissuethatneedsresolutiontheyshouldusetheappropriatechanneleithertheChampionshipCo-ordinatororChampionshipCommittee

6.1.2 Anyonepostinganythingderogatory,defamatory,insulting,unfavourableordisrespectfulinrelationto

theChampionshiporSeries–includinganyofitsparticipants,officials,partnersorsupporters–inanyformofSocialMedia,wouldbedealtwithinthesamemannerasifhecommentshadbeenpublishedinthe traditional print/broadcast media. In the worst instance this could mean exclusion from thechampionship/series,intheleastitwillbeadeductionofpoints.

NB:fortheavoidanceofdoubttheMSAmayofcoursetakeanyactionas itconsidersappropriate, inadditiontoanyactiontakenbytheChampionshipStewards.
