About this report

The PLANSPONSOR 2017 Defined Contribution (DC) Survey results incorporate the responses of 3,437 plan sponsors from a broad variety of U.S. industries. Of the 3,437:

• 1,242 (36.1%) are “Micro” plans (<$5 million in DC assets) • 1,211 (35.2%) are “Small” plans ($5 million-<$50 million)• 416 (12.1%) are “Mid” plans ($50-<$200 million)• 327 (9.5%) are “Large” plans ($200 million-<$1 billion)• 241 (7.0%) are “Mega” plans (>$1 billion)

Within the survey, 238 respondents are from Healthcare Organizations (for profit). Of these Healthcare Organizations (for profit) respondents, 115 (48.3%) are “Micro” plans, 71 (29.8%) are “Small” plans, 32 (13.4%) are “Mid” plans, 11 (4.6%) are “Large” plans, and 9 (3.8%) are “Mega” plans.

This report compares the survey responses of plan sponsors from Healthcare Organizations (for profit) with those of respondents from All Industries, which includes Healthcare Organizations (for profit).
