A good small kiln designed for the home potter or small studio loads, the 818-3 can be fired to Cone 10. Reliable and long-lasting. Features 3" firebrick for better insulating properties, faster heat build-up, and even heat distribution from top to bottom. Plugs into a standard 240V wall socket, draws 27.8 amps and 6660 watts. A 40 amp break-er is recommended.

Skutt KS 818-3 and KM 818-3

Skutt KS 1018-3 and KM 1018-3 The 1018-3 offers nearly twice the volume of the 818-3. It is a low, wide, easy-loading kiln especially designed for convenience and accessibility. Fires to Cone 10. Chamber has a 22.75" opening and is 18" deep, for a capacity of 4.38 cu. ft. Electrical requirements are 240 volts, 39.4 amps, and 9460 watts. A 50 amp breaker is recommended.

Skutt KS 1027-3 and KM 1027-3

The Cone 10 Skutt 1027-3 is the answer for large studio loads, schools, and the serious amateur who wants professional capacity. This model has chamber dimensions of 22.75" opening, 27" depth, and a capacity of 6.57 cu. ft. It draws 11520 watts at 240 volts and 48 amps. A 60 amp breaker recommended.

Skutt Kilns are known for their solid construction, energy efficient features, and reasonable pricing. They are available in a wide range of sizes and electrical configurations. Featured below are some of the most popular Skutt models. All Skutt Kilns are CSA approved and feature a rugged stainless steel jacket. The sectionalized construction gives fast access to to elements and firebricks for repair, and allows one person to transport a kiln and get through narrow doorways. For ease in firing, every KS kiln comes with an installed Kiln Sitter. For automated firing, Skutt offers the KM models with KilnMaster automatic controller. Two year limited warranty. A brochure is available for all models.

Skutt Electric KilnsSkutt KS 1227-3 and KM 1227-3 If you're looking for a full-size electric kiln, the Skutt 1227-3 will meet your needs. It has a load capacity of 9.9 cubic feet, making it ideal for schools, community centres, and professional studios. This kiln is rated to Cone 8, and has 3" firebrick. The chamber is 27" deep, has an opening of 28", and a capacity of 9.92 cu. ft. The electrical speci-fications are 240 volts and 48 amps for a power draw of 11520 watts. A 60 amp breaker is recommended.

Phase and Voltage Notes:

Voltage: The standard electric kiln will require 240 single .....phase voltage. These are the kilns we stock. Some schools and large buildings may require a 208 volt system. This is a special order from the factory, but at no extra cost. We will check your electrical requirements with you before we fill an order.

Phase: Some large buildings have a three phase system. In most cases a single phase kiln can be wired into a 3 phase system. Not all Skutt kilns are available in a 3 phase version. 3 Phase mod is an additional charge.

• The kilns listed above are thickwalled kilns with 3" fire-brick for extra insulation. They include a kiln sitter with timer as standard equipment.

• Note that electrical plugs are NOT included with 1027-3 and 1227-3 kiln models. For these models, Skutt suggests hard-wiring the kiln into your electrical system instead of using a plug/receptacle.

Since Skutt introduced their KilnMaster controller, we have found them to grow rapidly in popularity amongst all users. With the KilnMaster you get excellent temperature control, flexible firing programs, convenience, and repeatable results. Use the preset firing programs, or customize your own with the ramp/hold mode. With options to display in either Celcius or Farenheit, a programmable audible alarm , and the option to select a delay for the start of your firing, you can finish firing when it's convenient for you. All Skutt 10 and 12 sided kilns come standard with the Lid Lifter feature, and the Easy View touch pad option can be added to any KM kiln . A brochure is available.
