Check-­‐in  to  our  hotel  and  be  welcomed  with  a  Senegalese  cocktail  on  the  rooftop  as  you  take  in  the  panoramic  ocean  views  and  prepare  to  meet  the  other  women  for  a  family  style  dinner.

DAY  2

Wake  up  ready  to  explore  the  city’s  most  iconic  areas  and  learn  about  the  rich  history  of  Senegal.  Take  in  the  sights  and  sounds  of  Dakar  on  a  guided  tour  where  you  will  be  introduced  to  its  French  colonial  architecture,  lively  markets  and  the  iconic  Renaissance  Monument.  Taste  the  flavors  of  West  Africa  in  traditional  Senegalese  cuisines  such  as  Mafe,  Yassa,  and  Thieboudienne.

EXPLORE  THE  CITY.

NEVER  FORGET.DAY  3  

Relax  on  the  ferry  as  we  travel  to  Goree Island  to  pay  homage  to  our  ancestors.  We  return  as  freed  people  to  a  place  that  was  once  named  The  Door  of  No  Return  for  slaves  who  were  kept  underneath  the  mansion  before  being  shipped  to  the  Americas.  It   is  a  pilgrimage  that  is  a  privilege  to  be  able  to  experience.

DAY  4

Spend  a  day  of  serving  youth  who  are  waiting  to  meet  you.  Connect  with  them  by  sharing  your  time,  energy,  and  love  through  our  Jelani  Women  service  project.  We  will  do  activities,  distribute  gifts,  share  our  stories,  hear  their  stories,  teach  them  life  skills  and  most  likely  learn  a  great  deal  from  them  as  well.

WRAP  AND  UNWIND.DAY  5

After  breakfast,  learn  how  to  create  different  African  head  wrap  styles.  Use  your  free  time  to  relax  on  the  long  sandy  beach  with  its  calm  clear  waters  and  listen  to  the  sounds  of  the  ocean  or  join  us  for  a  surf  lesson  under  the  African  sun.

DAY  6

Travel  to  one  of  Senegal’s  most  popular  locations  and  experience  the  phosphorus  Pink  Lake  filled  with  beautiful  men  working  within  it.   With  sand  dunes  and  the  beach’s  shore  as  your  backdrop,  visit  a  Fulani  village  to  meet  the  Chief  before  returning  to  Dakar  for  your  last  night  out  on  the  town.

EXPERIENCE  NATURE.

DAY  7

Enjoy  a  farewell  breakfast  in  the  hotel  beforegetting  final  souvenirs  and  specialty  items  from  the  bustling  Sandagamarket.  Head  to  the  airport  for  your  final  departure  filled  with  great  stories  and  photos  to  share  with  the  people  you  love.
