Principal’s Message In the stage 2 and stage 3 classes, students have been busy preparing oral presentations associated with the Small School’s Public Speaking competition. At our school assembly last week we had the pleasure to listen to some entertaining and thoughtful presentations by students in the year 2/3/4 class. The process has been very rewarding for all our students. I would like to acknowledge the efforts of staff and parents in supporting the students and finally, well done to the many students that have given up play time to prepare as well as to help others with their presentations. Principal’s Message

In the stage 2 and stage 3 classes, students have been busy preparing oral presentations

associated with the Small School’s Public Speaking competition. At our school assembly last

week we had the pleasure to listen to some entertaining and thoughtful presentations by

students in the year 2/3/4 class. The process has been very rewarding for all our students. I

would like to acknowledge the efforts of staff and parents in supporting the students and

finally, well done to the many students that have given up play time to prepare as well as to

help others with their presentations.

Southern Cross Community of Small Schools Public Speaking

Congratulations to the following students for their efforts in representing Rous School in the

public speaking competition held at Tregeagle last Thursday. Thank you to Mrs Simpson for her

passion in working with the students. Thank you to parents in transporting the students.

Author Visit

Attached to the newsletter is information regarding an author visit on Thursday, 13 September

for K/1 and 4/5/6. Please fill in the permission note and return to the office with payment

New Website

Rous now has a new website. Communication and engagement is the key to building

relationships and achieving positive outcomes. School websites are now a major

communication tool for parents and the community. The website is very simple and mobile

friendly. You can make a payment, check out the latest newsletter or look what’s on in the

calendar.

SRC Drought Relief Fundraiser - Friday, 7 September

SRC Dress Up Day

Friday, 7 September

The SRC would like to raise funds to

support the drought relief.

Students may dress as their favourite movie

character next Friday.

A gold coin donation will be accepted.

Award-winning Author Touring the NSW North Coast

Aleesah Darlison is an internationally published, award-winning author with over forty books to

her name. She writes inspirational and humorous picture books, chapter books and novels for

children and young adults. Aleesah delivers stunning talks and writing workshops that include

PowerPoint presentations, videos, readings and loads of audience participation.

Aleesah will be visiting Rous Public School on Thursday 13th September, from 9.30am -10.30am

to present an author talk to K/1 and 4/5/6. Parents are welcome to attend. The cost of the visit

is $5 per student.

Please return permission note and payment to the office by Friday 7th September 2018.
