Nomination Package Checklist: ¨ 20 signatures from students ¨ Scrutineer information filled in ¨ Transcript attached ¨ Candidate information filled in You must submit this completed nomination form to the CEC in room 0RM03 before 6 p.m. Thursday, February 15th, 2018. If the CEC is not in their office, please drop the completed form in the health plan drop box on the east side of the Riddell Atrium. This is a nomination form for the position of PACE Director of the UWSA. In order to complete this form, collect the names, signatures and student numbers of twenty (20) students at large, fill out the required fields below, and attach a print out of a recent transcript to verify your eligibility for election. Transcripts can be accessed via Webadvisor (WebAdvisor/Current Students/Student Planning/Unofficial Transcript). Co-Directorships: Any student who wants to share the responsibilities and voting privileges of a directorship with a fellow student may run as a ‘co-director’ with that student. The two (2) students must submit one nomination form together containing both of their names. The two students will be treated as a single candidate, and their names will appear together as a single choice on the ballot for their desired position. Each of the two students must fulfill all requirements of the position, and each must submit a transcript with their nomination. Position Description: UWSA directors represent constituencies of students to UWSA committees and the Board of Directors. Directors help the union make decisions at every level, including managing finances, setting governance rules, and planning events and political campaigns. The Board of Directors meets monthly and UWSA Committees meet bi-weekly to monthly, depending on the committee. PACE Director

The Professional, Applied, and Continuing Education (PACE) Director represents interests particular to PACE students to the UWSA Board of Directors, and works with the UWSA Executive to represent these interests to the community, university, and government. Position Requirements: The term of office for all nominated directors is May 1st 2018 through to April 30th 2019. In order to be eligible to run for UWSA office you must be a current UWSA member (i.e. you must be a student at the University of Winnipeg during the time of nomination or currently hold office as a member of the UWSA executive). Scrutineers: Each candidate or co-directorship is permitted up to two (2) scrutineers to act as a volunteer that may serve as a candidate, slate, or side’s designate at meetings and who oversees part or all of the ballot count(s) on behalf of a candidate, slate, or side. Scrutineers must be members of the UWSA and may not be an employee of the UWSA. Additionally, a scrutineer may not be a candidate. If a candidate elects not to have a scrutineer present at the ballot count (held at 7 p.m. Wednesday March 7th, 2018), then they may not request a recount of the ballots for their position. Attendance to this meeting is strongly encouraged to ensure your understanding of the election process and requirements as a candidate. In the event that you cannot attend, please send one of the named scrutineers from this form on your behalf.
