Grand Knights MessageMy Brother Knights, I would like to welcome our newest members, Anthony Nieri and Donald Mormir. They took their 1st Degree on May 23rd with the Ave Maria 1St Degree team conducting the ceremony. Our council was busy this last month, in addition to welcoming Anthony and Don. We shared in the celebration of the First Holy Communion at both parishes. Conducted a Diaper Drive, also at both parishes, to be distributed at the Women’s Center and the Fr Michael J McGivney Centers for Hope and Healing. We distributed Mother’s Day flowers. Assisted with the St Beatrice’s Annual 200 Club Dinner. And we even had one of our brothers, Jim Gussy, receive his 4th Degree. It was a great night with 101 Brothers,

from 4 Illinois Dioceses, becoming Sir Knights. I hope everyone is excited for summer. Cookouts, picnics, bike rides, outdoor concerts, and baseball! Our social meeting June 20th will be with the Dogs! The Chicago Dogs take on the Texas AirHogs at Impact Field in Rosemont at 7:05pm. Tickets are $16 and parking is only $3 or FREE. Wayne will have order forms available.

We are hoping to have a great turnout with our members, families, friends, and fellow parishioners. Corpus Christi, Latin for “Body of Christ”, will be celebrated at parishes throughout the world. The feast to honor the real presence of the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist has been celebrated since 1246. We have assisted St Gertrude’s Parish’s procession through the neighborhood. I hope we can join them again this year, either in the Honor Guard or as a “civilian” participant Sunday June 3rd. Please be at the church at 8:30am for the Honor Guard. We will escort the Eucharist in the procession following the 9:00 mass.

St. Vincent De Paul … Mark Your Calendar

St. Vincent De Paul is holding a clothing drive in July. So clean out those closets and drawers and bring your donations to St. Beatrice’s Church parking lot on Saturday, July 28th from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM and again on Sunday, July 29th from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
