That’s what our clients tell us. It’s what audio manufacturers as well as recording and mastering engineers have observed.

The Modulum benefits are incremental. You begin improving the performance of a component by placing it on a Modulum platform, and then work your way through your system. The benefits are far from subtle.

Over the last few years, we have experimented with a large selection of audio components and accordingly optimized the performance of our platforms and modules.

MOVING AHEAD

More recently, we have optimized our platform design for non-standard, oversized and heavier components, such as top-of-the-line Nagra HD Amp, McIntosh MC2 and Tenor Audio Dual chassis monoblock electronics.(±170 lbs - ±77 kg components).We will continue to develop specific tuning recipes to bring out the best in high-end components.

Vibration is proven to be detrimental to the sound quality of audio components. Even though eliminating all vibration is impossible, many audio furniture manufacturers are trying to do just that. At Modulum, our approach is radically different. Trying to obtain a dead-stiff platform is not our goal. We realize that there are good and bad vibrations. Using finite element analysis and 3D modeling, we measured the mechanical behavior of all our platforms and modules when exposed to structural and airborne vibrations. Hundreds of hours of data analysis enabled us to narrow down our field of experimentation with vibrations in relation to different materials and structural designs. This allowed us to select the resonance frequencies that we felt should be tamed, in order to let electronic audio equipment perform to its fullest potential.

We then invented and designed a collection of different stainless steel harmonic absorbers (we call them wings). Once strategically placed under platforms or module shelves, they eliminate these selected vibrations by vibrating in phase opposition. Hundreds of listening sessions were required to refine the design of each specific harmonic absorber for each of our platforms and modules.

The 26” x 17” platform is designed to accommodate mid-sized audio equipment. It is extra-wide to better display your components and shallow enough to fit any room, all while improving acoustic quality when placed between speakers in a small space.

The 24.5” x 21.5” platform is designed to accommodate non standard size components.

The 46” x 21.5” platform is best for multiple- component systems. It can be used for exceptionally oversized turntables with a separate adjacent motor.

MULTIPLE HEIGHT CONFIGURATIONS

Three column sizes are available to suit all your equipment and ensure proper ventilation. They vary from 3” to 8” and 10”. They can also be com-bined to create 6”, 11” and 13” columns to fit any height required between any two platforms.

You also have the option to add a 3” column to the isolation feet.Equipment of any size can be accomodated bythe Modulum system.

The platforms are available in two choices of 1.25” thick solid wood: walnut or birch. Walnut only comes in a natural oiled finish. Birch comes in three different stain finishes: natural, black or brown.
