Choose to care; make a difference. This qualification is designed for students who are looking for fulfilling and meaningful work in the aged care sector, particularly residential facilities or homes. You will value the opportunity to offer personalised care to individuals with varying needs.

KEY FEATURES OF THIS COURSE• Theory, practical and essential knowledge

components will be delivered via classroom participation and practical workshops.

• Assessment of practical skills (120 compulsory hours) will be assessed during placement hours by allocated supervisors.

Students that are currently employed or actively engaged in the sector will have the opportunity to have their hours recognised upon approval.

English language courses

Do you need to improve your English language skills?

Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS). These 10-week programmes will provide you with a solid language foundation, helping you adjust quickly to studying in Australia. The courses will identify and target your individual needs and prepare you to feel confident in your communication abilities.

Programs cover essential grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, as well as writing, reading, speaking and listening skills.

If English is not your first language, you may be required to sit an initial language assessment to ascertain your level of English. We take your English Language learning needs seriously and have full details of our policies and procedures relating to ELICOS requirements on our website.

We must assess your language level to best place you in your English Language class. This is so you get the help and attention to get the best results. Our goal is to have you feeling confident with your English language abilities.

Courses at St Basil’s RTO are taught in English. You will need to show evidence of suitable English proficiency for the course you have chosen to study.

FURTHER STUDY

After you have successfully completed your English Language Course, you can choose from our other courses. The basic level of English proficiency required for entry into St Basil’s RTO courses is equivalent of Academic IELTS 5.5 with no band lower than 5.0.

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

Our student advisors will help you will all aspects of your study at St Basil’s RTO. They can assist you will advice, help to access the resources you need, advice on academic issues, course planning and the application process. We employ a councillor for students if you need to speak to someone in confidence, they are there to help you if you’re struggling or have troubles in or outside the classroom.
