Welcome to the 2019 ABC Excellence in Construction and Safety Awards Banquet!
Each year the Central Texas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors
(ABC) recognizes the contributions of its members to the construction industry
through several competitive programs.
Marking its 43rd anniversary of service to the Central Texas area, ABC is honoring
the regional Excellence in Construction winners as well as the Chapter Safety
Awards of Excellence and National Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP)
winners at this year’s awards banquet.
The Excellence in Construction Awards has two levels, top honor being the EIC
Award of Excellence, and the next level being the EIC Award of Merit. The coveted
trophy is an impressive statue of an American eagle. The EIC strives to honor those
who exemplify the highest quality of workmanship in their projects, while upholding
a dedication to building projects safely, on time, and on budget. I want to make
it a point to say that, while there are two levels for EIC, every project has met a
minimum judging threshold, and all are examples of excellence in our industry.
Additionally, the Excellence in Construction Safety Awards contain two levels, the
top honor being the Chapter Safety Best of the Best awards and the Chapter Safety
Excellence Award. Both acknowledge superior safety performance, supported by a
company’s commitment to safety and safety training.
Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. is a national organization that unites and
serves general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and industry professionals in
promoting the construction industry and preserving free enterprise.
As the President of ABC Central Texas, let me first thank you for your ongoing
and continuous support. Without the support of its members, no association can
survive, let alone strive to provide the resources, representation, education and
information that its members expect. We have many great opportunities in front of
us as an organization, and we commit to enhancing the value of your membership
by developing and delivering quality programming, relevant and timely information
and education, and becoming the face of the industry in Austin. No small task, but
one we are up for – with your help and support! My door is always open at ABC
and I welcome your input and suggestions as we move into the coming year.
Please enjoy tonight’s celebration, drink responsibly and drive home safely!
WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT
