PLEASE NOTES: JUNIOR EVENTS The competitors must be between 12 and under 16 years of age on the competition date and are allowed to compete in all Junior events, but are not allowed to compete in Youth or Amateur events. JUVENILE EVENTS The competitors must be between 6 and under 12 years of age on the competition date and are allowed to compete in all Juvenile events, but are not allowed to compete in Junior events. Juvenile should read and follow the rules and regulations for the costume and the competition according to The Junior Blackpool Dance Festival. DRESS RULES: Ballroom, Latin and Sequence Illustrations of dresses are available on the British Dance Council website Sponsorship Logos: three sponsor logos are permitted per couple and must not exceed 40 square cms

Hairstyle and make-up to be appropriate for the child’s age.

Hair Decoration Small flower or bow (Maximum 8cms in width and without rhinestones, glitter or any other

decoration and not made from shiny material) only permitted in the hair. No other decoration is permitted in the hair including glitter spray and rhinestones. Jewellery of a personal/religious nature may only be worn. Earrings are to be kept simple and small Armbands, Headbands, Neckbands and Gloves in material are not permitted Shoes Block heel only with a maximum height of 3.5 cm. White ankle socks must be worn. Materials Materials from the roll with no additional decorations such as lace motifs, rhinestones, sequins or ruching. Bodice and Skirt To be of the same self colour (dye match). No cut outs with one hem length all the way round. Godets are

not permitted. Bodice to be of one material only and to be fully lined up to and including the shoulder seams.

See through materials must be fully lined Bodice length to be waistline or hipline. Skirt to be of one material Panelling must be the full length of the dress. Up to two under skirts permitted and must be non-see through material. Crinoline or wire are permitted inside hem of top skirt. Crinoline may not be exposed on the bottom of the skirt. Satin ribbon may be used on hems. Hems to be no more than 8cms in depth. A Sash/Belt is permitted on skirt waist but no wider than 5cms to cover the join. Bow with tails to be no bigger than 5cms and may only be used as a fastening. Buttons and sashes for fastening purposes only. Waistband to be no wider than 5cms. A Sash/Belt on a dress can have a back fastening but must be an integral part of the dress Neck Lines - Neck lines and Keyhole back not lower than top of armpit/underarm. One frill up to 7.5cm in depth or simple collar Skirt/Dress Length - Permitted from knee level to 5cms above ankle sock. These are to be representative of the genre danced. Sleeves – Long, Short, Elbow Length, Short Puff, Cap – No frills and Dolman Trousers - Block black material only (velvet/velour not permitted) Normal or high waisted with optional underfoot strap. Black

Satin ONLY permitted in stripes and waistbands. Black Satin not permitted in yoke or pocket. Shirt - White long sleeved (not rolled up and with no additional detail) and must be tucked into trousers. No wing collars or shiny material. Cufflinks permitted Ties - Black bow tie or regular black tie (no Initials permitted)

Belts – Plain black belt either of leather or similar material with small buckle Shoes - Black Shoes to be made either of leather, Nubuck or Patent materials

SUNDAY, 18th AUGUST 2019 D1 AMATEUR RISING STARS LATIN OPEN COMPETITION

Competitors who danced in 4th round of the 2018 Amateur Latin Competition cannot compete in Amateur Rising Stars Latin. The competitors must be 16 years of age or over on the competition date.

Judging will be based on “All-Round” efficiency in the CHA-CHA-CHA, SAMBA, RUMBA and PASO DOBLE.

D2 AMATEUR RISING STARS BALLROOM OPEN COMPETITION Competitors who danced in Semi-Final and Final round of the 2018 Amateur Ballroom Competition cannot compete in Amateur Rising Stars Ballroom. The competitors must be 16 years of age or over on the competition date.

Judging will be based on “All-Round” efficiency in the WALTZ, FOXTROT, TANGO and QUICKSTEP.

D3 SENIOR (OVER 35) LATIN OPEN COMPETITION Senior Competitors are restricted to dancing in Senior events only in each Branch. The lady and gentleman must both be over 35 years of age on the competition date.

Judging will be based on “All-Round” efficiency in the CHA-CHA-CHA, SAMBA, RUMBA and JIVE.

COMPETITION SYLLABUS PASSPORT REQUIREMENT The original ID (passport) must be supplied together with the entry. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel the qualification of the competitors if incorrect date of birth was provided by the competitors. PRIZES Trophies or Plaques will be presented to all the finalists in every event. Competitors should wear competition costume for both the competition and Prize Ceremony. Please arrive punctually for the competition and make sure you attend events hosted by Organiser. REGISTATION Competitors are permitted to register more than one entry, but cannot change his/her partner in same dance. Should competitors not receive a letter of confirmation within seven days of the closing date please contact the Organiser. Any changes must be notified on receipt of your Letter of Confirmation as after this date it will be too late for the Programme. If competitors are unable to attend the Festival, there will be NO REFUNDS. ENTRY If any Competitor withdraws from any entry, immediate notification in writing should be sent to [email protected]. The competition number must be returned to the Organiser before the competition. Failure to do this renders them liable to disqualification from entering any future events. No late entries will be accepted and there will be no spare numbers, nor will anyone be allowed to dance in place of competitors who have not claimed their numbers. INDIVIDUAL ENTRY Please fill out the application form and pay the entry fee in the entry system of the Organiser before the deadline. GROUP ENTRY For Group entry please down load the Group Entry Form from http://blackpooldancefestival.com.cn and fill out the information required, then send the form together with the scanned copy of ID/Passport (All information filled must match the information on your identification card or Passport) to [email protected]. Entry form sent to/through any other email address, Wechat, telephone etc. will not be accepted. The Organiser will send a payment notification email to the group within five working days and payment should be sent with a copy of the remittance within three working days or the entry will be invalid. Please ensure that the name of the group is written in the remittance mark. The group entry confirmation email will be sent within three working days of the remittance being received. RESULTS Results to be published Monday, 19th AUGUST 2019: All Events on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Tuesday, 20th AUGUST 2019: All Amateur, Senior, Professional, Youth and Pro/Am events The aggregate votes of the Adjudicators in the Early Rounds, and the individual placing of each Adjudicator in the Final Rounds will be available on the Official Dance Festival – China website: www.blackpooldancefestival.com.cn JUDGING Should any adjudicator suffer illness, the Organiser reserves the right to replace at any time. ACCIDENT ASSURANCE Competitors should take care of their own Accident Assurance. The Competition Organisers are not liable or responsible for any health problems or injuries during the event. PUBLISHING RIGHT The Organiser enjoys the managerial authority of photo and video casting as well as the publishing right of the competition and relevant information/materials.
