Olive Street Reconstruction



• This heavy haul route will have the pavement reconstructed from SR 23 to just south of Tucker Drive.

• The new pavement will be concrete built to a 3 lane section.

• New storm sewer will be installed.

• New traffic signal system at the intersection of Sample and Sheridan Streets

• Turning radii improvements for large trucks on the south side of Sample Street.

• The intersection will be built with HMA pavement.

• The storm water will be separated and a retention basin will be constructed.

Michigan Street Pavement Replacement



• Replacing existing concrete driving lanes between Western Avenue and Colfax Avenue.

• Changing the perpendicular parking to 60 degree angular.

• New street lighting in the block from Western Avenue to Wayne Street.



River Walkway Extension and Lower River Wall RepairProject Manager: Roger Nawrot


• Building a new walkway that is 10 feet wide from Howard Park to Beyer Street along Northside Boulevard.

• Installing new pedestrian lighting along the new walkway and the lower river walk.

• Replacing 330 feet of existing lower river wall.



Storm Sewer Backwater ValvesProject Manager: Roger Nawrot


• Installation of 3 duckbill backwater valves on existing storm sewer discharge headwalls. The discharge sewer diameters are 36 to 42 inches.

• The discharge locations are along Northshore Drive between Angela Boulevard and Michigan Street.

• Expected Bid Date: Fall 2019


2019 Community Crossing Project

• HMA overlay of Corby from east of Ironwood Drive to Manchester Drive, Jefferson Boulevard from Ironwood Drive to Logan Street, Linden Avenue from Mayflower Road to Lombardy Drive and Riverside Drive from Angela Avenue to Academy Place.

• Pavement grooving and thermoplastic pavement will be installed.

• Expected Bid Date: Summer 2019


Ewing Avenue & Fellows Street Traffic Signal ReplacementProject Manager: Roger Nawrot


• Replacement of one of the oldest signal systems in the City. The existing mechanical controller is a museum piece and can’t be repaired.

• The signal supports including foundations will be replaced.

• A new digital controller with foundation along with the service point will be installed.
