Revaluate Residence of the Year Award Criteria

Residence of the year was once considered a prestigious award. The focus for residence of the year has shifted in the past years. Lack of knowledge and misconceptions regarding this award have lead residents to not take it seriously. We would like to revisit the criteria for residence of the year.

Residence of the year

It should be based on the academic performance of the residence and the fundraising conducted by the residence. Food supply has become a crises at TuksRes and it will lessen the financial burden on the University if residences tried to collect food throughout the year that can be provided to students in need at the end of the year

This can be done through specific food drives, for example, in January we are collecting milk cartons, and the residence that brings in the most will be in the running for residence of the year. Bes can decide what commodities are needed.
