State HOSA Advisor WelcomeWelcome all South Dakota HOSA-Future Health Professionals members and guests to the 7th Annual South Dakota HOSA State Leadership Conference. This year we welcome over 750 HOSA members to the Sanford Pentagon as you compete for a chance to make it BIG in Orlando, FL at the International Leadership Conference. This year, South Dakota HOSA eclipsed the 1000 membership milestone. What a great accomplishment in our young 7 year history!

Based on South Dakota’s population and employment statistics, projections continue to indicate that thousands of health care workers will be needed through the next decade. Health care occupations that provide direct health care services are not only the fastest growing professions in South Dakota, but in the United States as well.

“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening my axe.” – Abe Lincoln

South Dakota HOSA aims to “sharpen the axes” of its members. To be a successful health care professional, one must not only become well-skilled, but also great at collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. HOSA provides the resources to do just that. Preparing to become a future health professional begins with you, at this time, and in this place!

HOSA Headquarters will be located in Suite 1. If you need assistance or have any questions or concerns, please stop by and someone will be there to assist you.

Welcome! Enjoy the conference!

Sincerely,

Brock Rops, South Dakota HOSA State Advisor

State HOSA President WelcomeHello all, and welcome to our 2019 South Dakota HOSA State Leadership Conference! The team, community and I have done our best to ensure an unprecedented SLC! This conference truly has something for every one from tour to breakout sessions, we urge you to see what SD HOSA has to offer you. I am so blessed to have been a part of this organization and that is thanks to the wonderful and dedicated membership of all here today. These two days are the state officer team and my way of celebrating your passion, drive and excellence. Make the most of this experience and take every opportunity. I owe my entire future to the roots that I have founded in this organization. Every year, I am continually impressed by South Dakota HOSA. The world is lucky to have each of you as their future health professionals. I’m blessed to have been able to provide and serve along the first steps of your lifelong journeys;

that being said, make strides here. Good luck in your events, and make this conference yours!

Sincerely,Courtney Chrystal, South Dakota HOSA State President
