ORANGE CARPET EXPERIENCEThe sales pitch on the tip of your tongue
6 | 2020 AGENT GUIDE
THE ORANGE CARPET EXPERIENCEWinner of the UK Customer Experience Star Award, this initiative was created by EC in 2017 with the goal of making the students' experience from their first weekend (Sunday Activity) to their last day with us memorable.
SUNDAY ACTIVITYWith a view to warmly welcoming our students and making them feel at home as from their first weekend with us (which is usually the most impactful moment for them), we organize this activity for the new arrivals on the eve of their first class. Each center promotes a specific activity, which usually includes a tour of a point of interest in the city and a chat for students to get to know each other. In this way, everyone gets familiar with the city and the school staff and meets other new students, so that on the first day of school, they feel more comfortable and acclimated.

DOUBLE CERTIFICATIONDiscover EC's academic differentials!
EC is the only school on the market that offers the Oxford University Press Certificate. A differential advantage for your student!
HOW IT WORKSBefore the first day of class: Placement Test EC OnlineBefore departure, the student must take the Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT), available on the EC Online platform. This test was developed by Oxford University Press and measures the student's grammar, reading, and listening skills. The OOPT has a duration of up to 80 minutes.
First day of class: Placement testOn the first day of class, a second 20- to 30-minute long test is applied in order to round out the student's placement and assess writing and conversation skills. In case the student hasn't taken the OOPT before departure, they must take it on the first day at school as well, which is not recommended. Only on the first day of class will the student know their precise level of English.
Last day of class: Exit test and OOPTAt the end of the course, the student takes the Oxford test again to have a comparative of their English level at the beginning and at the end of the course. That's why, in addition to the EC certificate, they also receive a certificate validated by Oxford University Press.
At the end of the course, in addition to the EC certificate, your student will also receive a certificate from Oxford University Press as an external validation of their learning.

WHAT IS TIMETABLE DOUBLE BANKING?It's class times alternating between morning and afternoon, that is, one day the student will have class in the morning and the next day in the afternoon. This timetable format is quite popular among our students as it allows them to experience the city in different ways and reduces absence figures because they don't have to wake up early for school every day.
WHICH DESTINATIONS WORK WITH DOUBLE BANKING?US, Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, and Malta. In some schools, Double Banking takes place in peak season only - to find out which ones are on Double Banking, please consult our team via Skype or WhatsApp.
Important TIP: In Oceania and Ireland, classes are ALWAYS divided into Morning or Afternoon, without alternating periods.

GIVING BACKWe donate 1 euro for building schools in Cambodia for every student enrolled at EC
Since 2016, EC has had a partnership with United World Schools, a charity that provides education for children in underprivileged regions of the world. This initiative, just as all social responsibility projects carried out in schools, somewhat reflects our Orange Blood and EC values.
So far, we've financed the construction and offered ongoing support to two schools in northern Cambodia. In February 2017, we sent a team of EC volunteers to Ban Houy, Cambodia. Again, in 2019, we sent 11 EC employees to visit and volunteer in Ban Houy and at our second school in Don Lo.
We believe that, in this way, it's possible to give back to society and provide richer experiences to our team and students.
