2020 New Era Of Communications
2Generations in Mobile Technology -1G
First introduced in Finland, in the 1990’s.
Only voice calls enabled. Uses analog signals. Has 2.4kbps speed. Its large size is a disadvantage. Had poor voice quality
32G – 2.75G “ GPRS – EDGE”
First commercialized in the U.S. Introduced in 1991. Uses digital signals. Speed of up to 64 kbps. Texts and voice calls enabled. Inability to handle complex data such as
videos.
43G - 3.7G “ HSDPA - HSUPA –UMTS”
First introduced in the year 2000. Its speed is 2mbps. Handles large data. Allows web-based operations such as
staffing. Enables users to send and receive music
and video files. Rather expensive.
54G “ 3G LTE – 4G”
Also introduced in the year 2000. Has a speed of up to 1gbps. Has global mobility assistance. Integrated with wireless solutions. Has individual customized services. High security. One of its notable demerits is that it requires
complex hardware.
6What Is 5G And How Does It Work?
Introduced in 2010. Increased capacity compared to 4G. Has a high speed that is referred to as unlimited. Provides large data broadcasting. Increased clarity in videos and music files. Large internal phone memory. Encourages interactive multimedia. It is envisioned to transform the communication industry
through its unique and diverse features
74G and 5G Compared
8How 5G Makes Life Better
Expected to be launched in the year 2020. Eliminates all forms of cable connections. Enables wireless interactions. Enables unique interaction abilities in line
with entertainment and other personal needs.
9Group Communication and 5G
5G will increase the level of group interactions.
Encourage device to device communication. It is a rather novel concept. However, the technology seeks to enhance its
security. Will result in more avenues and ability to have
group communication.
105G Potentiality
The 5G technology would allow efficiency in several areas such as:The education sector (Schools and
Colleges). Health disciplines.Aeronautical professions (pilots).Police and traffic issues.
11
While approaching this new technology, several factions in the society are involved , there is the need to have several research sectors working together.
For instance, the following group contributions are essential in 5G development: Home ecosystem specialists. Audio visual specialists. Sensor networks. Automation specialists, and so on.
5G Infrastructure Public Private Partnership.
12
5G Cloud RAN
5G will be a multiple air interface. LTE-U, Wi-Fi, and all other
communicating links will be one large thing.
It is a centralized computer-based design.
This will enable real time virtualization.
13Achieving 5G 30 Times Faster
Some of the notable advances that would lead to achieving 5G quite faster include:Millimeter-waves research. Millimeter-waves make room for high
range bandwidths.New air interface.Device to device communication.
