This year MHS Senior student drivers will have the opportunity to paint/personalize a parking space on campus. The space will be yours during normal school hours. The paint/personalized parking spaces will be available for $25 (cash or check made out to Marlboro High School). The parking spots are limited to Seniors and on a first come, first serve basis. Spaces will be assigned in the front row of student parking. The parking spaces go on sale Monday, August 5th in the School Counseling Office. The proceeds of this fundraiser will go to Art Club and the Senior Class.

The Painting Party will be Tuesday and Wednesday, August 27th and 28th from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. A Senior Parking Design Request form must be approved

before painting. To ensure that the paint dries by the first day of school, all painting must be finished by Wednesday, August 28th. PLEASE block off your

parking spot when you finish to ensure no one parks in it while it is drying.

Guidelines for your Design Sketch: Personalize your parking spot by creating a design that reflects your interests, shows your school spirit, or simply an interesting or creative design (see examples below or search “parking spot ideas”). Remember, all purchased/reserved parking spots MUST be personalized to indicate to others that it is reserved.

Think of your space as a t-shirt you would wear to school. Your parking spot must meet dress code approval. Keep it classy! Any design associated with gangs, advertising drugs, alcohol, violence, obscene slogan, handicap symbols or symbols that my cause confusion or promote illegal activities will not be allowed nor approved. You may include your name, jersey number, instrument you play, your hobby, famous quotes or slogans and anything unique to you that meets administrative approval. Make it fun!

Paint Requirements: WATER BASED EXTERIOR LATEX paint is the only type of paint that can be used. Students need to stay within their space. Please use blue painters' tape to tape your border so you do not go into the next persons spot. The blue tape can go on the white lines to ensure this border is accomplished. You may purchase WATER BASED EXTERIOR LATEX paint at True Value, Lowe’s, or Home Depot (Consider sharing with others to cut down on your cost). All paint will be the responsibility of the student.

● WATER BASED INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR LATEX PAINT ONLY (pay attention to the Unapproved Paint list above)

● A broom to sweep off your spot before painting ● Chalk to sketch your design before painting ● Blue painters tape to mark off borders ● Your copy of the approved design ● Paint brushes, paint rollers, paint trays, stencils, trash bags and any other

painting supplies you think you may need. ● Friends and family to help you ● Something to block off your space while it is drying ● Be mindful of the heat: PLEASE wear sunscreen, a hat, bring lots of water, a

portable shade/canopy, etc.

This will be a really fun activity for the entire family and we hope to make this a great memorable tradition for all Seniors for years to follow!

Senior Parking Design Request

This design sheet must be done in color and must represent exactly what will be painted on your parking space to be accepted.

Parking Design Use the space to the right to draw your parking space for approval. Remember to start your design 4 inches from the white parking space line. You may use another sheet of paper for your drawing or generate and print a computer sketch.
