CFLF.org FEDERAL TAX ID: 57-1163801 The Cystic Fibrosis Lifestyle Foundation (CFLF) proudly presents the 13th Annual Champ’s Challenge for Cystic Fibrosis event, which will be held virtually this year over a 10 day period from August 7-16th. Due to the unprecedented nature of the pandemic, the CFLF has made the difficult decision to refrain from having an in-person event this year. Saddened that our event won’t be on the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain, we are also excited for the new virtual opportunities coming together. Our continued goal of making a difference for people with CF will be met by hosting our event in a new way, bringing our community together, and reaching more people globally that are usually unable to attend in person. During August 7th - 16th Champ’s Challenge will offer participants the traditional riding and running distance options, or the option to “Set Your Own Challenge”. Participants will be able to bike, walk, run or hike at their own pace for ten days, logging their distances. Together apart, we will use our logo of Living Stronger Longer Lives to propel us into supporting those with cystic fibrosis collectively. Setting up individual fundraisers is still encouraged. Although this year looks different, the goal of using our platform to bring our community together to produce opportunities for those with CF to live healthier physically and mentally remains the same. About Champ’s Challenge: Champ's Challenge has always been the CFLF's largest fundraiser of the year. We plan to maintain the stability of the foundation and make Champ's Challenge virtual event a success.

Over the last 13 years the event has raised more than $200,000. For this year, our goal is to exceed $25,000 in donations. Our sponsors make this possible with their generous contributions. Given your interest as an event sponsor, please commit by July 15, 2020 so we can ensure your logo is included on our event gear. This year, participants will keep track of their miles using activity apps. Recording stats will hold them accountable to their personal goals. Each participant will upload their individual results before noon on the final day of the final event (August 16th) for prizes and recognition.

About the CFLF Proceeds from Champ’s Challenge support the “CF Recreation Grant” program, helping people with cystic fibrosis on a national level to afford activities for exercise based activities. So far we have given grants for: ski passes, gym memberships, summer or sports camps, swimming lessons, horseback riding, hockey, and dance classes. Purchasing exercise equipment for home-use is also an option we support to keep individuals safe from infection risk. With supporting evidence, exercise is a critical part of thriving with cystic fibrosis. Unfortunately, it is often cost prohibitive for individuals and families faced with medical costs equaling thousands of dollars each year. To date, the CFLF has awarded over 1,400 Recreation Grants totaling more than $750,000.
