2020 Chamber Events The Seattle Southside Chamber’s 2020 program includes a series of regular monthly and quarterly events that

range in size, location, theme, and audience.

Each Chamber event is driven by our mission to:

1) Serve our Businesses through networking, resources and valuable content

2) Serve our Community by providing opportunities for education and workforce development

3) Serve our Regional Partners through direct connections to the communities they serve

Morning Buzz The Morning Buzz is our monthly morning event. Here

we bring together decision-makers looking to build

stronger professional connections, as each attendee is able

to briefly talk about their business, followed by a featured

member who provides insight into local resources.

Typically, these events attract 10-20 attendees. There is a

Morning Buzz every month of the year.

Lunch & Learns Lunch and Learns are informal gatherings where members learn and discuss topics that are of relevance to their

business today. These brown-bag events allow our members to showcase their expertise to a captive audience

while enabling businesses in our area to gain useful business knowledge. Typically, Lunch & Learns attract 15-25

attendees. There are 5 Lunch & Learns per year.

Luncheons Chamber Luncheons bring together a

company of minds to discuss and hear from

industry experts on the issues that matter most

to them. Hosted and catered by varying

member venues, our luncheons typically gather

80-100 guests.

• Southside Tourism – Presented in partnership with the Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority,

we hear insight on the regional economic impacts on travel and the importance of tourism.

• Annual Holiday – This luncheon serves as both the Chamber’s annual meeting, as well as a celebration

and thank you to all of the members and partners who worked with us throughout the year.


Mixers Chamber Mixers bring together the dynamic

members of our business community for food,

drinks, and connecting. Each month features a

different member venue and typically draws 40-60

attendees.

this annual gathering is a celebration of our collaborative communities

• Celebration of Women in Business – This event brings together successful female leaders and male allies

to share insights, exchange ideas, and empower careers

• Business Award VIP Reception – An exclusive networking event for the community of Southwest King

County to thank the premier investors and donors that have contributed to the success of the Chamber

over the last year


Summits The newest category in our event lineup, Summits combine the best of our programming together into power-

packed experiences. We bring panels of industry experts, allow time for Q&A, breakout discussions, and an

element of community engagement, and then wrap up the event with a business mixer. This multifaceted

platform allows for increased value to our attendees as well as targeted opportunities for sponsorship. Summits are

anticipated to draw 100-250 attendees.

Summit* - in partnership with various

King County Chambers of Commerce, this summit will focus on empowering business leaders, policy-

makers, and regional influencers to create innovative partnerships and solutions for the obstacles and

opportunities that face King County

• Environmental Growth Summit* - will serve to educate and motivate the business community towards a

path of economic growth that adopts innovative ways of using natural resources in sustainable ways

• Education & Workforce Development Summit* – will work in collaboration with employers, educators,

and job training programs to bring education and relevant training opportunities to local students

• Industry Spotlight* – will engage local leaders in specific industries to tackle the current climate as it

relates to the Seattle Southside region

Government Affairs Reception This annual event serves as an opportunity for our business community to meet the individuals running for public

service in our region. Each candidate or elected

official in attendance is given the opportunity to

address the audience as well as time to meet and

greet attendees. This event typically gathers 80-120

attendees.

Business Awards Dinner & Silent Auction Each year, we formally celebrate the business and nonprofit members who were recognized by their peers as being

exceptional in their field. The evening includes the awards ceremony, a remarkable dinner from our member host,

as well as the presentation of this year’s Education & Workforce Development efforts through our Success

Foundation. Throughout the event, guests will be able to participate in a silent auction to benefit the Foundation

and its future programs. This highly anticipated event

gathers 150-200 guests.

general public—increasing the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) when potential attendees search for your event online. All events on the Chamber calendar will be highlighted in our newsletters with an event block in each Weekly Newsletter and in the monthly calendar included in each Monthly Newsletter.

On-Site Celebrations - The Chamber will work with you to promote the event, arrange the participation

of local dignitaries, and provide day-of facilitation. This includes celebrations such as Ribbon Cuttings, Grand Openings/Re-Openings, Product Launches, and more.


Social Media Posts – Send us a high-quality photo or infographic with a 1-to-2-sentence description and

the Chamber will post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn featuring your company or organization. This includes business announcements, promotion of events or fundraisers, and features in Chamber social media promotions, such as #MemberMonday.
