20/20 VISION Week 3: Funeral Wake

RECAP In this third sermon looking at three critical questions you have to answer to have a clear and compelling vision for your life, Pastor Josh looked at Galatians 5:16-25 and discussed how to walk in the Spirit.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Pastor Josh started the message by using the metaphor of a funeral service. When was the last funeral you attended? What are some of the thoughts that come to your mind at a funeral?

2. During the message you were encouraged to contemplate and think about what you want to be said about you (and by whom) at your funeral. What did you write down?

3. Read Galatians 5:22-23 and the fruit of the Spirit. Is this a good picture of characteristics you want to describe your life? If these fruits described your life, would that be a 20/20 vision for your life? Why or why not?

4. The way to get what you really want is to walk in the Spirit. How familiar are you with the Holy Spirit? Based off of your religious background and upbringing, what were you taught aboutwalking in the Spirit?

5.Read Galatians 5:16-18, 24-25. Pastor Josh talked through three words to describe walking in theSpirit (awareness, surrender, obedience). Talk through real-life examples you’ve lived throughfor each of those words.

NEXT STEP Who is someone in need that the Holy Spirit might be leading you to minister to them? Pray for them and minister to them in the name of Jesus this week.
