IndicationPenrose drains are intended to be used in superficial wounds. It depends on gravitational forces, capillary action and overflow for wounded fluid drainage. These tubes help doctors/nurses observe infection, leakage, and hemorrhage via the color, volume, and density of wound, and also enable to converge interstitial fluids, and wash out infection fluid, or suction over-fluids.
