Entrance Awards recognize academic and non-academic achievements of students entering eligible full-time BCIT credential programs, including part-time and full-time bachelor’s degree programs.

The 2020–2021 BCIT Entrance Awards are for individuals who will begin a BCIT program between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONSReview the general entrance awards eligibility criteria. Then read each entrance award description and determine which awards you are eligible to apply for. Complete the application form and include all supporting documentation requested in the award-specifi c information section of any entrance awards you have selected.

Clearly mark each Entrance Award you have chosen to apply for – page 1.

Complete your Personal Statement – page 3.

Your application must be signed in ink – page 3.

A copy of your FINAL high school transcript. Photocopies are accepted. Report cards are NOT accepted.

A copy of your transcript from every post-secondary institution you have attended. You must include the front and back sides of your transcripts. Photocopies of o� cial transcripts are accepted. Uno� cial transcripts or copies of certifi cates are NOT accepted. Transcripts provided must include fi nal grades. English translations must accompany transcripts that are in another language.

Award-specifi c Information – Some awards have additional criteria. Any award-specifi c information that must be included with your application is listed in the Entrance Award description.

Two Application Form D or confi dential reference letters, completed by two di� erent referees, in support of your application (if required). Completed letters may be returned to applicants, or be mailed, emailed or faxed directly to BCIT.

APPLICATION DEADLINESThe BCIT Entrance Awards program has two distinct application deadlines that depend on when you begin your full-time studies at BCIT and the program you are registered in. Please check the deadline under each specifi c entrance award.

For awards with a singular August 5 deadline, applicants must commence their program between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021.

For awards with two deadlines, the following applies:

August 5, 2020 is the deadline for those applicants entering their BCIT program April 1, 2020 to November 30, 2020.

January 6, 2021 is the deadline for those applicants entering their BCIT program December 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.

ENTRANCE AWARDS SELECTION CRITERIAAll entrance awards are adjudicated on a competitive basis. Selection is based on academic standing in high school and/or post-secondary studies. Other factors may be taken into consideration such as participation in school activities, community involvement, and demonstrated leadership qualities.
