The Electric-Powered Boom Lift with AC Drive Service course is a 3-day classroom program that covers electric-powered boom lifts with AC drive systems. ENGINE-POWERED BOOM LIFT SERVICE TRAINING - #BL202

The Engine-Powered Boom Lift Service course is a three-day classroom program that covers engine-powered boom lifts. Participants will explore the concepts necessary to inspect,diagnose, and repair systems common to 80 foot and smaller JLG engine-powered boom lifts. This class focuses on the 800S Engine Powered Boom, which adheres strictly to new ANSI standards. This class allows participants to gain insight into how an engine-powered boom lift operates and how the safety systems, functions, and drivetrain work.

Topics covered in this class include machine familiarization, power distribution, function system circuits, and the drivetrain. Each module includes lecture and supporting hands on testing of the 800S boom lift.

COMPACT CRAWLER BOOM LIFT SERVICE TRAINING

JLG’s Compact Crawler Boom Lift Service courses are 3-day classroom programs that provide the information necessary to diagnose and maintain Generation III Compact Crawler Boom Lifts. This training will help you navigate your way through maintenance and diagnostics of these unique machines.

Participants will become familiar with the latest in Compact Crawler Boom Lift technology on the market. Participants will learn power distribution, CANbus, booms, drivetrain, and the Ramhino diagnostic software. When participants successfully complete class, they will have the skills to diagnose and maintain any Generation III JLG Compact Crawler Boom Lift ma-chine in the fleet.

ELECTRIC SCISSOR LIFT SERVICE TRAINING

JLG offers service training on the ES and R series electric scissors. Training on each series is 12 hours long. The classes are scheduled back-to-back so technicians that maintain both mod-els can complete training on both models in one three-day session. Participants can attend training for the ES scissor, the R scissor, or both. The ES Scissor Lift Service course is a 12-hour classroom program that covers electric-powered ES Series scissor lifts. ELECTRICAL FUNDAMENTALS - #TF223

The JLG Electrical Fundamentals course is a four-day, in-depth look at electrical systems and theory. This course covers schematic analysis, measuring devices, DC electrical theory, component diagnostics, and Controller Area Network bus (CANbus).

In class, participants will build simplified circuits found on JLG equipment, analyze the circuit using ohm’s law and applicable measuring devices, then test the circuit on an actual piece of equipment. No other electrical course in the industry gives as much application level knowledge as the JLG Electrical Fundamentals course.

Technicians apply all mathematical and physical concepts in the shop with hands-onapplications. With knowledge gained from this course, proper references, and necessary test equipment, participants will walk away with the skills necessary to diagnose any piece of equipment they come across in the industry.

HYDRAULIC FUNDAMENTALS - #TF202

The JLG Hydraulic Fundamentals course is a four-day class covering hydraulic systemsusing the world-class simulators built by the Fluid Power Training Institute in Salt Lake City and actual JLG equipment. Participants will learn about hydraulic safety, systemcomponents, pressure control, pumps, directional control valves, actuators, flow control, and much more. Over 50% of this course is hands-on to increase participant’s understanding of hydraulics.

This course is designed to provide the fundamental skills necessary to maintain, test, and adjust hydraulic components on JLG equipment. As participants build circuits using thehydraulic simulators, they will learn schematic analysis, component application, component testing, and adjustments. After using the simulators, participants will apply knowledge gained by taking measurements and making adjustment to JLG equipment.

JLG Train-the-Trainer Programs

JLG’s Train-the-Trainer programs qualify graduates to teach operators using materials that meet and exceed OSHA requirements and the new ANSI A92 standards. The JLG Train the Trainer Programs are only available at the JLG Training Center in McConnellsburg, PA. The JLG Training Center features a four-acre proving ground designed to support our industryleading Train-the-Trainer programs. Train-the-Trainer participants will spend about half their time onsite operating every classification of machine, providing them with theconfidence and knowledge to train equipment operators.

Graduates of JLG’s Train-the-trainer programs are qualified to teach equipment operators using JLG’s operator training programs and materials. Graduates are provided access to digital copies of all the training materials. Graduates can also have instructor and administrator rights in JLG’s AccessReady learning management system, allowing them to administer operator e-learning, record evaluations online, and issue JLG operator cards.

JLG Train the Trainer graduates can order Training Kits that are used to conduct operator training. Kits are available for MEWPs and Telehandlers and in English or Spanish. Each kit includes the following materials:

• 12 – Participant Operator Training Manuals • 12 – Operator Training Tests • 12 – Evaluation forms for each classification • 1 – JLGU Instructions to download materials

Note: MEWP training kits include 12 of each MEWP classification operator evaluation forms.

MEWP and TELEHANDLER TRAIN-The-TRAINER BLENDED PROGRAM - #TT301

The MEWP and Telehandler Train-The-Trainer BLENDED Program consists of four weeks of instructor-facilitated online training followed by a three-day instructor-led session in McConnellsburg, PA. This program qualifies successful participants to teach the JLG MEWP Operator Training Program and the JLG Telehandler Operator Training Program.

Participants will spend about 6 hours per week during the first 3 weeks of online sessions; week 4 should require little or no time from participants. The basic timeline for theprogram is:

• Week 1 – Online Training: Fundamentals of Training – Training and Evaluation Techniques, Presentation Skills • Week 2 – Online Training: Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) – Operator E-Learning, Regulations & Standards, MEWP Selection • Week 3 – Online Training: Telehandlers – Operator E-Learning, Regulations & Standards, Telehandler Selection • Week 4 – Online Training: Participants use this week to finish any incomplete assignments • Week 5 – Classroom and Hands-on: Three-day session in McConnellsburg, PA – Operator evaluation, Training Skills, Hands-on operation • Participants that do not complete the online assignments will not pass the program and should not travel to McConnellsburg!

This program lets you take advantage of flexible, online classes or a traditional classroom environment. You can learn on your schedule, then take the hands-on portion of your training when you’re ready.

Classroom Learning:

Simply contact a trainer from the AccessReady Network and schedule your classroom sessions.

E-learning Platform:

Purchase e-learning and set up your hands-on evaluation with a professional trainer from the AccessReady network. Your trainer will send you a link to the e-learning and you can work through them at your own pace.

QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS

Every trainer listed on the AccessReady portal graduated from the nationally-recognized JLG® Train-the-Trainer course and chose to join the AccessReady Trainer Network. By leveraging these graduates, JLG created a Network that spans across North America.

When you complete a course with one of these instructors, you’ll receive a certificate of completion. You’ll also have the option to purchase an RFID-enabled operator card.

The AccessReady program connects operators with JLG-qualified trainers. With proper MEWP and telehandler training, you can walk onto the job site knowing you have the right credentials.

AccessReady trainers can train you on both JLG and non-JLG equipment. Get telehandler, boom lift andscissor lift training that meets all published OSHAand ANSI specifications, so you can be successful.

The AccessReady program includes an exclusive app that lets you track all your machine familiarizations and produce your credentials on demand. It’s available on both Apple and Android devices.

Plus, when you register for AccessReady, you can immediately view the user-friendly portal. Select the type of machine you want to be trained on, and the map will populate withinstructors. Then, click on a pin to see the instructor’s name and contact information.

1.5 Day Classes

When making travel arrangements take into consideration the class end times, especially if you are traveling by air. It will take about two hours to drive from McConnellsburg to any of the major airports and you need to be at the airport one to two hours prior to your flight departure time. You may not pass the class if you choose to leave early.

GENERAL TRAINING INFORMATION


DRESS CODE

• No open toed shoes • Casual business attire, clean jeans, or work uniforms • Knee length shorts are allowed

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

• Safety glasses will be provided • Safety shoes are only required for the McConnellsburg plant tour • OSHA toes provided if needed • Fall arrest lanyards and harnesses are provided • Hi-visibility safety vest are provided

CLASS MEALS AND REFRESHMENTS

• Snacks, coffee, water, and soda are provided each day • Lunch is provided each day

SHUTTLE SERVICE

• JLG is not providing shuttle service between the hotel and the training center in McConnellsburg • Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from training each day

CANCELLATIONS

Course cancellations and changes occur for various reasons. All reasonable attempts will be made to conduct the courses as scheduled. However, in the event a class must be cancelled, customers will be notified 14 days prior to the class start date whenever possible. JLG is not responsible for any incurred expenses due to course cancellations, so please plan your travel accordingly.

Customer cancellation must be done at least 7 days prior to the scheduled start date. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the class start date will not be refunded.
