ENGINE CRANKCASE OILS

Use of SAE IOW-30 oil will pro-vide the proper viscosity for all nor-mal ranges of outside temperatures.For operation at sustained outsidetemperatures below -100 F. a 5W-20 oil should be used.

Oil Quality

Use only oils which have beentested and certified by the maker assatisfying automobile manufacturersspecifications for Engine OperatingSequence Tests for Service M.S.The Ford Motor Company specifi-cation covering these tests is ESEM2CIOI-A. These tests are defined

Oil Filter

Use of the right oil filter is alsoessential to good engine life and op-eration. For 6,OOO-mile filter changeintervals, filters must meet FordSpecification ES-COAE-6714-A.

If engine oils are used which donot meet these requirements, it willbe necessary to change oil morefrequently than every 6,000 miles.
