IntroductionDoes it seem like you’re forever creating new products and content from scratch?

It makes good business sense to put out new products.

The more products you add to your sales funnel, the better chanceyou have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers.

And content is king online, so creating new content should be high on your priority list.

But here’s the thing – creating brand new content and other products sucks resources away from your business. Whether you’re doing the content-creation yourself or outsourcing the task, it takes time and money.

Maybe you’ve already discovered time-savers like PLR (Private Label Rights) content to make light work of content creation.

Now let me offer another solution to save you plenty of time and money:

Namely, repurposing and recycling your content.

It doesn’t matter if it’s content you’ve created from scratch or PLR content you have the rights to. If you have the right to modify and use the content as you please, then you can recycle it to turn it into even more money in the bank!

Over the next several pages you’re going to discover 21 different ways to reuse content using my “3C Content Repurposing Formula”. Here’s an overview:

CUT: Here you’ll discover how chopping up your content can put more money in your pocket.

COMPILE: If you have a lot of content, then you can compile it and expand on it to create entirely new (more expensive) products.

CHANGE: This one is easy – here you’ll discover how to change the format or change the content itself to create new products in a fraction of the time it takes to create products from scratch!

Let’s get to it…

CUT: How to Make Money With Your Content by Slicing and Dicing

Here are six proven ways to make more money from your content by chopping it up…

1) Create a “Lite” Version of Your Product

If you have a full-size ebook, video, audio, software or other product, then you can easily shrink it down to create a “lite” version of your product.

There are a few different ways to do this, depending on what sort of product you’re selling.

Here are a few ways to present the lite version:

• If you’re selling software, then you can disable a few features to create a lite version. Then simply let customers know those features are available if they upgrade to the full version.

• If you’re selling content, you can include the full version of the table of contents, with the missing chapters “grayed out.” That way customers can actually see what chapters they’re missing. Then from within the report, include a link to upgrade to the full version.

• Alternatively, you can just strip down your full version ebook to include all chapters, but each chapter doesn’t include as much information.

For example, let’s suppose you’re selling a diet book, and one particular chapter includes 50 tips to stave off cravings. The “lite” version of your product may only include 25 tips.

Once you’ve created your new product, then you can take this lite version and go in any number of profitable directions with it, including these two tactics:

© 2013 - All Rights Reserved. http://www.iSiteBuild.comPage 5

Page 6: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

• Sell this lite version to customers while offering an upgrade to the full size version. The upsell could be at the point of sell, within the product itself and through backend emails you send to your customer list.

• Give the lite version away to use as a lead-generator for the full-size version. Again, you can encourage people to purchase the full version at the point they’re downloading, from within the product itself or through backend emails you send to your customer list.

2) Offer a Lite Version or Excerpt for Giveaway Events

Here you create your lite version the same way as described in the previous section. Alternatively, you can simply excerpt a portion of your product.

Example: Just pull one chapter out of a full-size ebook and create a report from this chapter. Then you can give this new product away to your joint venture partners who are requesting freebies from you.

Here are a few ideas for events:

• The lite version can be included in a joint venture giveaway event. This is where all JV partners give away one or more products for free in exchange for the recipient’s email address. All partners promote the event, so everyone has a good chance of building a bigger list.

• The lite version can be used in a firesale. This may be a fire sale that’s designed for the fire sale creator to profit from, or it could be a fire sale for charity. Either way, you can offer your excerpt for inclusion in the package.

• You may offer your lite version as a freebie alongside your partner’s paid products.

• You may offer your lite version as a freebie inside your partner’s membership site.

• You may offer your lite version as a freebie to anyone who signs up for your partner’s site.

Page 7: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

• You can allow your affiliates to give away or sell the lite version. (Be sure the product is rebranded with their affiliate links so that they get credit for any sales.)

And so on.

If you’re working with joint venture partners in this manner, then there’s one other way you can make these offers more attractive to potential partners.

Namely, by allowing your partners to “rebrand” the lite version with their affiliate links. That way, they’ll earn a commission every time one of their customers or subscribers upgrades to the full version of the product.

3) Chop and Load

If you have an ebook, report or other content, you can chop it up into smaller articles and load it into your autoresponder.

This works particularly well if you’re offering a multi-part course, such as a five-part course on how to train a dog or a seven-part course on how to lose weight.

If you have a lot of content, then you can create an autoresponder series that stretches for many months or even a year.

Example: If you have enough content to create 52 articles (each around 250 to 600 words), then you can deliver an article each week for a year to your subscribers.

You can also do this with videos and audio recordings. Simply chop up your videos or audios into smaller segments, load them on your site, and send links to each segment on a regular basis to your autoresponder subscribers.

Ideally, any content you load into your autoresponder should be “evergreen” content. This is especially true if you’re loading content that stretches out for many months.

Evergreen content is any content that doesn’t get “stale.”

It’s content that’s relevant the day you load it into your autoresponder, and it will still be relevant one year from now when your subscribers see it for the first time.

Page 8: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

Example: An article about how to tile a bathroom is evergreen content. However, an article discussing this year’s fashion trends – or any article that refers to a “new” product – is not evergreen content.

4) Slice, Dice and Blog

Instead of uploading all these articles, sound bites or video segments to your autoresponder, you may instead choose to upload them to your blog.

This allows you to help make your site “sticky” by frequently updating your blog (which means people come back often to see if you’ve posted something new).

Blogging frequently can position you as an expert in your niche. And you can also build a list from your blog readers, by encouraging people to sign up for your list that notifies them each time you’ve created a new post.

Quick Tip: If you also take this content and optimize it for the search engines, then you can help drive search engine traffic to your site.

Frequently updating your blog and “pinging” blog directories also helps drive immediate traffic to your site. If you use a blog platform like WordPress (it’s free), then you don’t need to “ping” your site after new posts and WordPress will do it for you.

If you don’t use a platform that does it automatically, then you can do it manually yourself by visiting pingomatic.com or pingoat.com.

Tip: Maybe you have months or even years of content to upload. But who wants to be tied down to their blog, faithfully uploading new content every few days or every week?

You don’t have to. Instead, check your blog platform to see if it allows you to pre-load content to post in the future. If not, search Google for “automatic blog posting” software.

5) Shrink Content for Article Directories

Another use for these articles is to submit them to article directories.

Page 9: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

Some of the most popular directories include:

• EzineArticles.com – http://www.ezinearticles.com• GoArticles.com – http://www.goarticles.com• ArticleCity.com – http://www.articlecity.com• ArticleAlley.com – http://www.articlealley.com• Buzzle.com – http://www.buzzle.com

The purpose of these directories is so that online publishers can take your article and post it on their site, in their newsletter, include them on their blogs, and so on.

However, most article writers find that the main advantage of submitting these articles is for SEO (search engine optimization) purposes, because not only do you get one-way links pointing to your sites, but your articles also tend to pull in search engine traffic.

That means that ideally, at least some of the articles you create should be designed to pull in search engine traffic. To do this, follow these two simple steps:

1. Find out what words, specifically, your market is using to find information in your niche. Simply use the keyword tool of your choice (like WordTracker.com), enter in your broad keywords, and you’ll get a list of all sorts of keywords searchers use.

Note: Unless you’re a search engine expert, then you’re looking for “long tail” keywords. These tend to be longer phrases that might not get as much traffic as other words, but they’re also easier to optimize for so you can grab top spots in the search engines.

2. Once you have your words, then create content around these keywords. Your article title should include your keywords, and the body should include these words at about a 3% density rate (meaning the keywords show three times for every 100 words of content).

But don’t just write for the search engines.

Remember that human readers are going to find it – and these are the people that you need to impress. Indeed, you need to impress them enough so that they read your entire article, all the way down to your resource box (byline). And then your byline needs to give them a reason to click through to your site.

6) Grab Some Free Publicity

Finally, the last method we’ll discuss that involves cutting your content is to use this content as a way to get yourself some free publicity.

Here are two ideas for you to use:

• You could use your content as the basis for a press release. Then you can submit this newsworthy item to your local media as well as on distribution sites like PRWeb.com. Alternatively, you could hire a press-release distribution firm to do it for you, or you could buy an updated list of editor’s addresses so you could submit directly to the correct people.

• Another way to use this content is to create professional, polished articles. Then submit these articles to regular (popular) offline niche magazines and newspapers.

Getting published in these publications means you get paid. But even more important, you get free publicity.

You can establish yourself as an expert by getting frequently published in offline magazines. And yeah, it also impresses the heck out of people at parties.

COMPILE: How to Grow Your Bank Account by Expanding Your Content

Whether you have articles, ebooks, reports or even multi-media applications, you can easily compile and combine the content to create a larger product.

Generally, you can easily charge more for these larger products, which puts more money in your pocket with very little time and effort involved.

Here are four quick and easy ways for you to grow your bank account by compiling content…

Page 11: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

7) Create a High-Ticket Course

Many marketers sell a series of lower-price products in the beginning of their sales funnel, with the intention of leading customers to their high-ticket courses.

Often, these high-ticket courses are compilations of products – for example, a typical course might include:

• Beginning, intermediate and advanced level instruction. So if you have ebooks (or content in any format), you can include them all to create a comprehensive “home study course.”

• Different ways of teaching the material, including text, workbooks, checklists, audio and video instruction.

If most of your content is in digital format, you’ll also want to consider converting this content into physical products.

This means turning your ebooks into regular books, turning your downloadable MP3s into CDs, turning your streaming videos into DVDs and so on. (We’ll talk more about this tactic later in this report.)

Then package all of these materials into one box and ship to your customer. The fact that there is so much information (and that they’re physical products) will increase the perceived value in your prospect’s mind. And since it’s a physical product, you’ll also have a reduced refund rate.

8) Build a Coaching Program

Instead of creating a home-study course or “big box” product as described above, an alternative way to use your compiled content is to create a coaching program. Or you can select a portion of your content (such as your expert-level content) to create a more focused coaching program.

There are three main differences between this and the big-box products:

1. You may consider offering email, telephone or forum support to your members. Generally, when you use the word “coaching,” people are going to expect some live, one-on-one coaching. As such, it’s a good idea to offer access to live training from time to time.

© 2013 - All Rights Reserved. http://www.iSiteBuild.comPage 11

Page 12: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

2. Coaching products almost always include step-by-step instructions and blueprints. So while a “big box” product might literally include a box of products for the customer to review, your coaching customers would receive explicit instructions about what to review and in what order.

3. Because coaching products do tend to be in a step-by-step format, you may want to release the material according to a pre-determined schedule. So for example, you may release a new lesson every week for the duration of the course (which may stretch on for several months).

Remember, you can create a coaching program that runs nearly on autopilot, particularly if you deliver the lessons by autoresponder. But do remember customers may expect some real-time, personalized coaching.

9) Open a Membership Site

Another use for all your content is to create a membership site using it, and then charge customers a monthly access fee.

Now, you’ve probably heard about how popular and profitable these sorts of sites can be, since you’re earning a monthly residual (passive) income. But the problem with regular membership sites is that you need to continuously be creating new content and updating your site… more or less “forever.”

Solution: Create a membership site with a fixed duration.

So instead of going on “forever,” members sign up and pay a monthly fee for a pre-determined amount of time, such as three months, six months, one year. You set the duration based on how much content you have.

Then instead of creating a membership site with a general member’s area where members can come in and download everything, you instead load the links to your content to your autoresponder. That way you can send the content on a fixed schedule (perhaps weekly) to every new customer.

With regular membership sites, you’re manually uploading and updating the member’s area every week or every few weeks. What’s more, all members are receiving exactly the same content at the same time.

Not true with this sort of membership site. You only need to load it up into your autoresponder once – it’s truly a “set it and forget” model.

Page 13: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

And the exact content any one member is receiving this week depends on where they are in the autoresponder series.

It’s simple, easy… and a very profitable way to reuse your content!

10) Set Up an Authority Site

Finally, here’s an idea if you have a lot of content: Build an authority site in your niche.

Think about it for a moment…

Have you ever searched for a niche-related topic, and you kept running into the same site and the same author over and over?

Perhaps you were looking for information on a topic of interest to women, and it seemed like iVillage.com kept turning up in your search results. Or maybe you were looking for a health topic, and WebMD.com seemed to dominate the search engines for those topics.

Both of those examples (iVillage and WebMD) are considered authority sites.

In part, the label comes from the fact that sites like this tend to dominate the search engines in their niche. But authority sites are also labeled as such just because they do, indeed, contain a lot of good information on the topic.

Now, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to take on the “big dogs” online and create an authority site on a broad topic like “relationships” or “health” or similar. However, you certainly can create an authority site around one particular topic that appeals to a particular niche.

Simply take all your content and create articles and reports to post online. You may want to consider first optimizing this content for the search engines, which means including your (long tail) keywords within the content. In addition, you should include your keywords elsewhere on your site, such as:

• In the file names of your pages. For example: http://www.yourdomain.com/keywords.html

© 2013 - All Rights Reserved. http://www.iSiteBuild.comPage 13

Page 14: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

• If you create subdomains (such as http://subdomain.yourdomain.com), then be sure to include your keywords in the subdomain.

• Include your keywords as part of your page titles.

• Include your keywords in your navigation menu.

• Include your keywords within the articles and other content.

• Include your keywords elsewhere as needed.

Of course, ranking high in the search engines certainly isn’t limited to this sort of on-page optimization. Indeed, on-page optimization is really a small part of getting ranked, especially for competitive keywords. What you need to do is get one-way incoming links pointing at your sites (with your keywords as the anchor text).

Fortunately, a true authority site tends to get a lot of one-way incoming links naturally, as people tend to link to it on forums, in their blogs, and even on their own sites while discussing the topic. But you can start a link campaign to get your own links, by doing things like:

• Exchanging links with webmasters of other related sites (with good content).

• Submitting articles to article directories.

• Submitting press releases.

• Submitting your site to other types of directories (e.g., ezine directories, blog directories, etc).

• Creating Squidoo Lenses and HubPages on the same topic. (We’ll talk about this tactic more later on in this report.)

• Creating Blogger blogs on the same topic.

• Uploading content to your social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn.

And so on. There are plenty of ways to get links. The above list just gets you started, but you can easily get thousands of links that way. If you’d rather not get links yourself, go to elance.com and post a project.

CHANGE: How to Make Money by Changing the Format or Purpose of Your Content

Recycling content isn’t just limited to cutting it up or compiling it (though we’ll talk about some more of these sorts of ideas in this section).

You can also reuse your content by repurposing it or even changing the format.

Below you’ll find 11 ideas you can use to make money by changing your existing content. Chances are, these 11 ideas will serve as a starting point as you think of dozens of other ways to repurpose your content.

Start brainstorming…

11) Nichefy Your Content

Here’s one of the most powerful and profitable ways you can change your content. Namely, by “nichefying” it.

Nichefying content means that you tweak it to appeal to a particular niche. For example, a general time management ebook appeals to a broad market. You can capture a larger market share by tweaking the content to appeal to a specific niche. So your general time management ebook could become:

• Time management for college students.

• Time management for business owners.

• Time management for new mothers.

• Time management for working parents.

• Time management for hospital administrators.

• Time management for CEOs.

• Time management for elementary education teachers.

• Time management for people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Page 16: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

And so on.

As you might expect, there are a nearly endless number of ways you can tweak a product so that it appeals to different niches.

In just this example alone, you could take one ebook (time management) and create eight new products.

Now, there are two ways to nichefy a product. You can use one or both:

1. Tweak it to appeal to a particular type of problem. For example, a guide to getting rid of back pain could be focused just on lower back pain. Or it could be focused on those pains originating from stress. You could tweak it to have it focus on those suffering from injury-related pains.

2. Tweak it to appeal to a particular group of people. You can also aim the back pain book at a particular group of people, such as sedentary office workers, construction workers, or perhaps senior citizens.

Do you see how that works?

You can create nichefied products by combining the two suggestions above.

Example: A back pain book gets nichefied to become a book about getting rid of pains in the lower back. Then it’s further nichefied to appeal to one particular target market, such as students. For example, “The College Student’s Guide to Getting Rid of Lower Back Pain.” Or, “The CEO’s Guide to Getting Rid of Lower Back Pain.”

Again, the combinations are endless. And tweaking the product generally doesn’t take very long.

If you’d rather not do it yourself, then hire a ghostwriter to do it. Be sure to also change your marketing materials (such as your sales letter) to appeal to your new niche.

12) Convert Your Content Into a Different Medium

Here’s an idea you can use alone or in combination with other content recycling ideas.

Specifically, turn your content into a different format.

© 2013 - All Rights Reserved. http://www.iSiteBuild.comPage 16

Page 17: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

For example, you may:

• Turn a text product into an audio product.

• Transcribe an audio product into a text product.

• Turn an article into a video.

• Turn a video into an audio.

• …And every other combination of changing a text, audio or video product into a different format.

The reasons for doing this are simple:

1. First, doing so accommodates people with disabilities. For example, transcribing an audio helps your customers who are hearing-impaired.

2. Changing the medium also means you can accommodate those with different learning styles and preferences. For example, some people have a hard time remembering what they’ve read, but they love watching videos… and some people are just the opposite.

3. Changing the format often means you change the perceived value of the product, which means you can charge more. Generally, audio has a higher perceived value than text-only content, and videos are judged to be more valuable than text. So if you turn a text ebook into a video, you can usually charge much more for it.

13) Create Viral Content

Here’s a case where you can cut or compile content to make a new product – but in this case, you’re looking to repurpose the content.

Instead of creating a regular free product or even a paid product, the idea is to create lead-generating viral content.

Let me explain…

1. The first thing to do is to create a viral report, ebook or even video. To do that, select some of your best, most-engaging content. You might take

© 2013 - All Rights Reserved. http://www.iSiteBuild.comPage 17

Page 18: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

some of your articles and compile them. Or you might take some of your longer products and cut them down. Either way, the point is to create something engaging.

2. Next, tweak the content to make it entertaining, extremely useful, and/or controversial (and even offensive). The reason is because people don’t pass along or “buzz” about bland content. Even content that’s extremely useful rarely gets passed along, unless the content reveals a novel approach, a “secret” or something else buzzworthy.

If you can’t think of a twist to make your content buzzworthy, then consider making it controversial.

Simply take a strong stand on a polarizing topic and make your case. Then post your free ebook on your blog, give it to your newsletter readers, have your affiliates give it away and so on. If it’s a video, do the same thing (and post it on YouTube, of course).

If you can get people talking – either agreeing or disagreeing – and if you can push their “hot buttons” in the process, you’ll soon have a boatload of new subscribers signing up just to read the report everyone else is talking about!

14) Turn Your Content Into a Lead-Generating Presentation

Whether you have text, audio or video products, you can easily turn this content into a live presentation. Then you can give this live presentation via a teleseminar, webinar or even as an offline speaking engagement.

You might be a guest speaker at a local organization, or you might create a free workshop.

Whatever you choose, the idea is to give useful but somewhat incomplete information. Your goal is to build a list of prospects, by making people “register” for your free presentation.

Then at the end of your talk, you can encourage people to buy your products and/or join your paid workshop. And since you have everyone’s contact information, you can also follow up and upsell your prospects on your paid products.

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

15) Make Your Content Into a Paid Presentation

Here, you start off doing the same thing as the last idea.

Namely, you turn your text, audio or even video content into a speaking presentation. But instead of offering the presentation or workshop for free as a lead generator, you instead offer it as a paid product.

These two ideas work well together.

You can repurpose your content to create a free, lead-generating workshop or other presentation. Then you can upsell your participants on joining your paid workshop.

16) Transcribe and Record Live Presentations

Just as you can turn your existing content into live presentations, you can also work in the reverse by turning your live presentations into text, audio or video products.

For example:

• Turn your live teleseminar into a downloadable MP3. You can further change the content by transcribing the MP3 to turn it into a text product.

• Turn an audio product into a video product by matching the audio with appropriate graphics, charts, slides, etc.

• You can record your live workshop and turn it into a DVD set. You can then sell these DVDs individually, or compile them to create a “big box” product package.

And so on. In short, the idea is to take your live presentations, record them, and turn them into new products that you can sell over and over.

17) Run a Multi-Part eClass

Instead of offering instant access to a complete course, you can instead chop up your products (and compile other products, if need be) to create a multi-part eclass.

Example: One ebook could easily become a 4-6 week course that’s delivered by autoresponder.

This is similar to some of the ideas we discussed earlier in the report. For example, it’s similar to the membership site idea, except in this case you can ask for full payment upfront rather than getting monthly payments. It’s also similar to the step-by-step instructional coaching method, except with an eclass you aren’t required to provide one-on-one coaching.

One of the main reasons for turning a regular ebook (or audio or video) into a multi-part eclass is because often the perceived value skyrockets, which means you can charge more. So your weight loss ebook that sells for $19 could become a three month ecourse selling for $97 or more.

18) Deliver Your Content in a New Format

Earlier we discussed how audio products have a higher perceived value than text products, and videos have a higher perceived value than both text and audio products. Here the idea is to turn a digital product into a physical product, or turn a physical product into a digital (downloadable) product.

For example:

• You can turn your ebook into a regular book by going to book printer or using a print on demand company like Lulu.com.

• You can turn your downloadable and streaming videos into physical DVDs that you ship.

• You can create physical CDs from your audio recordings.

And of course you can do all of these in reverse, as well.

The reason to convert your products depends on which direction you’re going (e.g., digital to physical… or physical to digital):

Turning digital products into physical products usually boosts the perceived value of the product. That means you can generally charge more for your shipped DVD versus the downloadable video you offer on your website.

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

Turning digital products into physical products reduces the refund rate. Because people have to actually repackage and ship the product back to you to get a refund, you’ll have a lower refund rate as compared to your digital products.

Turning physical products into digital products solves the need for instant gratification, which is particularly important when you’re serving “desperate niches.” If you’re selling a product like “how to soothe a sunburn” or “how to get rid of lice,” people aren’t going to wait for the product to arrive on their doorstep. They want and need their information now, which is why they’ll be looking for downloadable information.

Of course you can have the best of both words, simply by creating a hybrid product. You offer a product that’s part digital (thereby providing immediate gratification) and part shipped (which reduces refunds and boosts the perceived value). That’s a win-win situation for you and your customers!

19) Retire Paid Products to Turn Them Into Bonuses

Whether you have free content or paid content, you can turn it into a bonus to your other paid products.

For example:

• You could cut up a large ebook and offer a smaller report as a bonus to a paid product.

• You could expand a short report to create a bonus product.

• You could compile free articles to create a bonus product.

• You could “retire” one of your older products and start using it as a bonus to other paid products, rather than selling it separately.

Those are just a few ideas – there are plenty more.

This tactic works particularly well when you use the last idea on the list where you retire older products and turn them into bonuses. This is an alternative to updating and “freshening” these products.

However, you don’t want to offer bonuses that are completely outdated or don’t offer value, as that will diminish your reputation.

So while your product may not be the freshest product on the market, it should still be relevant and useful if you’re going to offer it as a bonus.

20) Build Third-Party Web Pages Using the Content

Earlier when you learned how to turn your content into an authority site, I mentioned that you get one-way incoming links from places like Squidoo and HubPages to help with your search engine rankings. Of course, those links are only valid if you create a page full of content.

I bet you can see where this is leading. That’s right, you can take your existing content and turn it into a Squidoo Lens or HubPage.

These are single pages that you create around a niche topic.

Example: You can create a Squidoo Lens on how to house train a puppy, how to reduce facial lines, how to play the piano, or any other topic of your choosing.

The great thing about these sites is that Google considers them authority sites. And that means that Google regularly indexes these pages and tends to rank them well for keywords. Even if you’re not a search engine expert yourself, you can probably get ranked well for long tail keywords.

To do that, just be sure to use your long tail keywords throughout your content, in your page tags and as the name of your lens whenever possible. Doing so should get you ranked well so you can pull in search engine traffic. If you provide good content, then this search engine traffic will click through to your website (if you give them a good reason to do so, of course).

21) Sell the Resell Rights to Your Products

Here’s another way to reuse your content – instead of selling it to end users (i.e., your customers), you can sell the resell rights to other marketers.

There are a few different rights you can offer:

Page 23: 21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash! Ways To Turn Your Content Stash Into... · you have of increasing the lifetime value of your customers. ... fraction of the

21 Ways to Turn Your Content Stash into Piles of Cash!

Resell Rights: The person holding resell rights can sell the product directly to the customer, but cannot sell the rights. As such, the customer can use the product personally, but doesn’t have any other rights.

Master Resell Rights: Here each customer not only gets personal-use rights, they also get resell rights to the product as well. That means they can sell it to end users (niche customers), or they can sell the resell rights to other marketers.

Private Label Rights: Not only does the license holder have the right to resell or even giveaway the content, he or she also has the right to modify the content.

If you had an emergency come up and you just needed to raise some quick cash, then you might consider selling private label rights to your existing content. However, you wouldn’t want to use this as a long-term strategy. That’s because if you offer PLR (private label rights) to your content, people can edit it as they please – and that means they can and will remove your links.

On the flip side, consider resell rights. Here you’ll lose control of your product, since you’re selling it to other marketers so they can make a profit from it. Thus you will no longer be the exclusive seller, you can control the price and so on.

The big benefit, however, is that now your product is reaching more customers. Since there are more marketers selling it, it will naturally get in front of more customers. And while you’re not earning upfront profits from these sales (those belong to the resellers), what you DO get is a backend income. Namely, you earn money every time someone buys from the links in your ebook.

Naturally, resellers don’t want products stuffed full of links, as that only devalues you the product. But if you put a handful of links in while maintaining the same high-quality content, you can bet plenty of marketers will be happy to purchase the resell rights from you, and plenty of their customers will be glad to buy from your links.

Tip: If you offer master resell rights to your product, it will generally get devalued a lot more quickly. Because the competition multiplies fast (as every customer becomes a reseller), soon you’ll see your product being sold in large packages or for just pennies.

While offering master resell rights does get your product in front of a lot of customers, just keep in mind that the customers simply may not value the product as much if it’s found on every other site online for mere pennies.
