First Holy Confession and First Solemn Holy Communion

First Holy Confession and First Solemn Holy Eucharist (Communion) in our cathedral parish will take

place on Sunday, the 5th of October. Preparation will commence on Sunday, the 1st of June. Please notify the Sis-

ters, (tel. 9329 0749) or the parish (tel. 9320 2566) if your child is 7 years or over and has not yet received First Holy

Confession and Solemn Holy Eucharist. Each child deserves to receive this preparation to meet Jesus Christ personal-

ly in these Holy Sacraments.

Перша Свята Сповідь і Урочисте Св. Причастя у нашій парафії відбудуться цього року у неділю 5-го

жовтня , а у неділю 1-го червня розпочнеться підготовка дітей до цієї урочистої події. Будь ласка голосіть

Ваших дітей, які ще не приступали до згаданих святих тайн і які вже мають понад 7 років життя до сестер Ва-

Vision 2020—Faith Formation –Biblical Studies Series Background to the New Testament

Tuesday Evenings: 7 pm-8:30 pm beginning on Tuesday May 13, 2014 in the hall below the church.

The new series Background to the Christian Scriptures will begin by introducing participants to the historical and cultural

background to the New Testament, including what we know about the historical Jesus. Particular attention will be paid to the

formation of the Gospels and the distinct portrait of Jesus painted in each.

The course will include:

The Setting for the Story

How the Scriptures Came to be Written

Portraits of Jesus in the Gospels

The Infancy Narratives

The course will be taught by Mary Kelty who holds a master’s degree in Religious Education from Fordham, the Jesuit Uni-

versity in New York and has had over 30 years of teaching experience and curriculum writing for secondary schools, includ-

ing courses in Texts and Traditions and its Queensland counterpart Study of Religion where she was on the State Panel for

many years

The Course Adam and Eve and All That will be repeated on

Tuesdays from the 13th May onwards at 11am-12:30pm in the

hall beneath the church for those who were unable to attend

during the evening.

Today I address all of you faithful of the Ukrainian Greek Cath-olic Church, led by your priests and bishops, and invite each one of you to embark together with me on an extraordinary pilgrim-age that will last for ten days—from the Ascension to the Descent of the Holy Spirit, Pentecost. We are calling this pilgrimage the Missionary Decade of Days in which we turn the attention of our entire Church towards our common vocation as “missionaries,” that is to say a community ready to share God’s Word of salva-tion with others.

as not to get lost and to make all of our stops together, in ac-cordance with the defined daily program, I ask you to bring along “The Guide to the Missionary Decade,” our pilgrimage’s itinerary. (could be download from the Eparchial web-site)

в Господі св. п. Яніна Холоднюк, (Newport), народжена 18.1.1922 року в Яворові, Україна. Залишила в

смутку дочку Марію та сина Михайла з родинами. Похорон покійної відбувся у середу 21-го травня. Ро-

дині та знайомим покійної складаємо сердечні співчуття, а її душу поручаємо Вашим святим молитвам.

We share with you the sad tidings that on Wednesday 14th May, Janina Cholodniuk from Newport passed to God in her 92 year. Maria was born on the 18.1.1922 in Yavoriv, Ukraine. Her funeral took place on

Wednesday 21st May 2014. She leaves in sorrow daughter Maria and son Michael with their families. We ex-

press our sincere condolences to family and friends of Janina and ask everyone to pray that God Lord will place

her soul where all the just repose.

на Кіпіш, (Maidstone), народжена 16.11.1925 року в Волі Ошанській, Україна. Залишила в смутку дочок

Лонґіну та Любомиру з родинами. Похорон покійної відбувся у середу 21-го травня. Родині та знайомим

покійної складаємо сердечні співчуття, а її душу поручаємо Вашим святим молитвам.

lences to family and friends of Iwanna and ask everyone to pray that God Lord will place her soul where all the

just repose.
