21ST CENTURY LEADERSHIP
Cape Town, 10 – 14 October 2016
Cape Town International Convention Centre
Effective Human Intervention invites all Leaders in Executive positions who want
a bird's-eye view of Leadership from both a practical and strategic angle &
Managers keen to deepen their understanding of Leadership, People
Development and Organisational Development to join us on a powerful
Leadership journey.
This is a modern day “Bootcamp”. It is
NOT about a traditional approach to
leadership development. This event
focuses on leading in a way that
encourages personal fulfilment, leaving
a legacy and gaining commitment not
just compliance from employees.
It’s about both the Leader and the
Follower contributing their best work
together. It’s about influence that
creates a healthy workplace and adds
business value in the short and long
term.
21st Century Leadership is not linear, but
quantum. That means that “cause and
effect” management – leaders deciding on
a course of action and cascading it over a
few months - is no longer a sustainable
business practice. Creating strategy without
stakeholder engagement and effective
implementation processes is therefore a
“last century” practice. Leaders need a
Mirror (an intra-personal focus), Modem (an
inter-personal focus) and a Map (an
organisational context-orientated focus), in
order to be credible and navigate the
workplace effectively.
21st Century leaders will use critical thinking
and confidence in their ability to lead their
organisation in the midst of turbulence.
Moreover, awareness of the business and
global context in which they operate will be a necessity, as will exceptional strategic and
interpersonal communication, fostering collaboration and creativity. Many organisations say
“our people are our greatest asset” but few really harness the power of teams aligned
around a shared vision, coached and managed by astute leaders. Such leaders help their
teams understand where the organisation is going and why, and how their day-to-day efforts
contribute to the success of the company.
Employees are a powerful source of competitive advantage, internally and operationally as
well as externally, in the form of providing authentic brand experiences. There is a proven link
between high levels of motivation, advocacy, loyalty and business success. Effective
leadership, Execution and Employee Engagement, then, are strategic imperatives for
business sustainability.
