Thank you for purchasing a RadioShack 22 ChGMRS/FRS Two-way Radio. It provides short-range voice radio communication to let familiesand groups keep in touch with each other onspecific reserved channels.

The radio is a lightweight, palm-sized radio youcan use to talk with another person in thecommunication range (up to 2 miles using an FRSfrequency and up to 7 miles using a GMRSfrequency) who has a GMRS/FRS radio set to thesame frequency as yours.

Your radio has 22 channels and 38 different quietcodes, which you can use to talk with anotherperson who has a GMRS or FRS radio set to thesame frequency as your radio. Your radio also hasauto-squelch, so you will not hear anything on achannel unless someone is transmitting nearby onthe same channel.

You can connect an optional speaker/microphoneand earphone to the radio (neither supplied butavailable at your local RadioShack store).
