22 june creative learners, thinkers and...movie diary of a wimpy kid: the long haul that opens in...
TRANSCRIPT
It is with both admiration and sadness that we accept the retirement of our principal, Greg Chalmers. After 10 years steering our waka through the changing waters of the Whau, Greg has decided it is time to slow down. We know this was not an easy decision, however, we appreciate that he is taking time to think about the future of himself and his family. Over the course of Term 3 we will look back at some of the milestones of our school's development and celebrate all Greg’s leadership and the dedicated team of staff at our school. Greg will be retiring at the end of term 3, and is quick to remind us that he has a lot of work planned in this time, so it will be business as usual. With our initial planning underway, we are aiming to have a new principal on-board for the start of term 4. At the same time the Board will be working hard to find a worthy replacement to lead our school into the future. We are currently completing the selection criteria which include key competencies and all-important personal qualities. During this process we would greatly value your input , so please email us on [email protected] with your suggestions or join us for an informal information evening on Monday 3rd July at 6:30pm in our staffroom.
Kind Regards Teresa, Alexis, Venus, Sharron & Anthony Avondale Primary School Board of Trustees
Thanks for all the kind words regarding my upcoming retirement at the end of next term. As I said in my letter to the Board, your children are special to me and will live on in my heart forever. I look forward to spending more time with my family. They have been totally supportive of me throughout my career as an educator; it is now time for me to give back to them. These last 10 years have been challenging and rewarding with lots of fun along the way. My thanks to all of the community for your support. We want the best for our kids. Hopefully I have helped in some way.
