 A thought ahead of all   A Special Economic Zone, is a geographically bound duty free area for the purpose of trade, operations, duty and tariffs. SEZ units are self-contained and integrated having their own infrastructure and support services.

Export processing Zones (EPZ’s) are special tax free enclaves with an

objective to promote Exports in the country and earn net foreign exchange

A Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is a geographical region that has economic

and other laws that are more free-market-oriented than a country's typical or

national laws

As per earlier circular of Government of India (GOI) only new units can open

there shops in side a SEZ and old units cannot shift from a STPI park to a SEZ.

But recently the circular was modified where an IT company can now freely

transfer from an STPI park into an SEZ but for that companies have to forego

the tax benefits as laid out in the SEZ Act.
