Ponding – The batten bars, cover strips, and seams produce raised areas that let water pool and often cause EPDM seam failures. These areas are easily repaired using Andek products which are not affected by ponding water. Andek products are UL and FM rated offering a light reflective Energy Star rating with a 10 yr renewable manufactures watertight warranty.

Seam Failure – EPDM seam failures occur as the material shrinks and lose elasticity. Seams are easily repaired using reinforced Andek Roof Fab material over the seams, while the black roof is turned white using UL and FM rated products with a light reflective Energy Star rating which can provide a 10 yr renewable manufactures watertight warranty.

• Thermal image shows extreme signs of daytime heating of the black EPDM membrane causing increased air conditioning demands. High roof surface temperatures contribute to urban heat island effects. Each fastener used to hold the insulation down act as heat syncs which transfers the heat to the inside of the building. It is not uncommon to have a fastener every 3 square feet in roofing assemblies.

POLAROOF RAC - Applied 1 gallon per 100 square feet (15 wet mils) over entire roof after seams have been reinforced.......POLAROOF NW - Apply White Energy Star Rated, POLAROOF NW at the rate of 1 gallon per 100 square feet (15 wet mils).

22 Year Old EPDM Andek Roof Restoration

• Andek Polaroof RAC and Roof Fab adds reinforcement and strength to EPDM seams without the need to strip EPDM seams in using costly EPDM materials. This repair procedure is warranted for 10 yrs



• All field seams reinforced with Andek Roof Fab and encapsulated prior to first application of a urethane Polaroof RAC.




• Coverage of Andek urethane base coat is carefully monitored to assure proper coverage.




• New system incorporates existing EPDM thickness of .060 mils plus two coats of 15 wet mils Andek over the field of the roof plus additional .30 wet mil reinforced thickness at seams and penetrations. The new waterproof protection often exceeds 100 mils. Existing insulation and taper is salvaged and kept out of landfills. New 10 year renewable warranty.




• Completed EPDM Roof Restoration – All existing EPDM field seams are reinforced using Andek Polaroof RAC & Roof Fab. A base coat of Andek Urethane RAC is applied followed by a top coat of white Energy Star Rated Andek Polaroof NW.

• Completed installation gets a Renewable 10 Yr Warranty.

• Building Owner saved $80,000, stopped the leaks, and got a 10 year renewable warranty
