Mass Schedule

~In Our Thoughts & Prayers~ Homebound Parishioner of the Week

If you look at the Mass schedule to the left of this column you will notice that the morning Mass on Wednesday is scheduled for 10:30. That means that school is back in session and the school children will be joining us for Mass. As we begin another school year please keep the students at All Saints Academy and all students in all schools in your prayers that they my have a productive school year and all become brilliant with the knowledge they receive. A while back I wrote here that if you or anyone you know of is looking for some extra work to earn some extra money our parish school, All Saints Academy, is looking for some help in its maintenance department. Work would include general cleaning—vacuuming, mop-ping, etc. This would be a great job opportunity for someone who is in college and would like to work 8-10 hours a week to earn some extra spending money or money to help with their school costs. Or perhaps someone is retired and would like to get out of the house and earn a little extra money by working a few hours each week. If you would be interested please contact the school Principal, Michael Debri, or the school Business Manager, Amy Kelley, or you can chat with me. The following thank you letter I share with you: “Dear Father George and members of the Dea-con George Social Justice Fund: A heartwarming Thank You for the grant award of $5,000 to support Nazareth Prep - Pittsburgh’s first private high school for teens, mostly minority, who face challenges that require intentional and thoughtful sup-port in planning a future that ends generational poverty. The school, which graduated its first senior class in June, focuses on student mindsets: problem solver, entrepreneur, resilient learner, and servant leader. Nazareth Prep provides a competitive, yet per-sonalized, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math-ematics (STEM) preparatory program with the heart of its mission focusing on bridging the education to em-ployment gap in the tri-state region. The school’s exclu-sive student experience is the required internship, one full day a week, throughout the school year. This allows teens to build skills that will transform their lives and pre-pare them for a two or four year college, apprenticeship, or job. Thank you for joining us on this journey. Bless-ings to all of you in the work that you do in your commu-nity - and beyond! Sincerely, Sr. Linda Yankoski, EdD Lisa Abel-Palmieri, PhD President & CEO Head of School & Holy Family Institute Chief Learning Officer Nazareth Prep”

A packet of information will be mailed to families who attended last year. If you are new to the parish or to our program, please give us a call, 616-361-7339 ext 1253, so we can get the materials to you. Some of our parish children have spe-cial educational needs. If parents make our office aware of those needs, proper placement can be determined which will most benefit the child. In some cases regular religious educa-tion teachers simply need to be ap-praised of reading difficulties, medical problem, or behavioral techniques that are more effective than others.

Volunteer Opportunities We are looking for a few people to share their faith with our children in the Religious Education program, Children Liturgy of the Word and the RCIA pro-cess. All materials and support are provided. Please call or email if you are interested. If you wish to get in-volved but not sure where you fit, please contact Jody, there is a place for you. Jody DeGraw, jdegraw@bsac rament.net, text 616-340-9041 or call 616-361-7339 ext 1253.
