We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye

take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until

the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts 2 Peter 1:19

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say,

Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Ye are all the children of light {prophecy}, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober. 1 Thess. 5:2-5

-watch: to be alertly on the lookout, look attentively, or observe, as to see what comes, is done, or happens; to look or wait attentively and expectantly; to watch for a signal; to watch for an

opportunity; to be careful or cautious.-sober: not intoxicated or drunk; habitually temperate, especially in the use of liquor.

The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they

that do [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever. Ps. 111:10

Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall

he make to understand doctrine? [them that are]

weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts.

For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon

precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and]

there a little: Isa. 28:9 & 10

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a

workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly

dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim. 2:15

The word of God is like a puzzle and we need the Holy

Spirit to put it together for us.

Page 4: 2300 Days Prophecy “Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.” Dan. 8:14

God help us to be Bible students. Until you can see the reason for it yourself and a "thus saith the Lord" in the Scriptures, don't trust any living man to interpret the Bible for you. And when you can see this, you know it for yourself, and know it to be the truth of God. You will

say, "I have read it, I have seen it, and my own heart takes hold upon it, and it is the truth God has spoken to me from His Word." Now this is what we are to be--individual Christians.

We need to have an individual, personal experience. We need to be converted, as did the Jews. If you see a little light, you are not to stand back and say, "I will wait until my brethren have seen it." If you do, you will go on in darkness. God help us to have a knowledge of the

truth, and if you have seen the truth of God, press right to the light and put up the bars behind you. Make not flesh your arm; but have a living experience for yourselves, and then your

countenance will shine with the glory of God. You have walked with Him, and He has upheld you. You have wrestled with Him and pleaded with Him, and He has let His light shine upon

you. {Faith and Works, p. 78}

BREAKING NEWS

The book that was sealed was not the book of Revelation, but that portion of the prophecy of

Daniel which related to the last days. The Scripture says, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased" (Dan. 12:4). When the book was opened, the proclamation was made, "Time shall be no longer." (See Revelation 10:6.) The

book of Daniel is now unsealed, and the revelation made by Christ to John is to come to all the inhabitants of the earth. By the increase

of knowledge a people is to be prepared to stand in the latter days.

{Selected Messages Book 2, p. 105}

In the Revelation all the books of the Bible meet and end. Here is the

complement of the book of Daniel. One is a prophecy; the other a revelation. {The Acts of the Apostles, p. 585}

Just like building a house we must lay a foundation. The same principle goes for

study Bible Prophecy. Our foundation begins with the Holy Spirit and the KJV Bible.

From there we begin to build with Daniel chapter 2, then add Daniel chapter 7,

Many of the prophecies are about to be fulfilled in quick succession. Every element of power is about to be set to work. Past history will be repeated; old controversies will arouse to new life, and

peril will beset God's people on every side. Intensity is taking hold of the human family. It is permeating everything upon the earth. Study Revelation in connection with Daniel, for history will

be repeated. We, with all our religious advantages, ought to know far more today than we do know. Angels desire to look into the truths that are revealed to the people who with contrite hearts are searching the word of God and praying for greater lengths and breadths and depths and heights

of the knowledge which He alone can give. {Maranatha, p. 30} Read the book of Daniel. Call up, point by point, the history of the kingdoms there represented.

Behold statesmen, councils, powerful armies, and see how God wrought to abase the pride of men, and lay human glory in the dust. {Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers, p. 112}

The Infinite One by His Holy Spirit has shed light into the minds and hearts of His servants. He has given dreams and visions, symbols and figures; and

those to whom the truth was thus revealed, have themselves embodied

the thought in human language. {My Life Today, p. 40}

Alexander first vanquished the generals of Darius at the River Granicus in Phrygia. He next

attacked and routed Darius at the passes of Issus in Cilicia, and

afterward defeated him on the plains of Arbela in Syria. This latter battle

occurred in 331 B.C., and marked the fall of the Persian Empire.

Page 11: 2300 Days Prophecy “Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.” Dan. 8:14

And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was

moved with choler against him, and smote

the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no

power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him

down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver

the ram out of his hand. Dan. 8:7

choler: anger; wrath;

irritability

The two horns were broken, and the ram was cast to the ground and stamped upon. Persia was subdued, the country ravaged, its armies cut to pieces and

scattered, and its cities plundered. The royal city of Persepolis, the capital of the Persian Empire--even its ruins one of the wonders of the world to the present

day--was sacked and burned. Thus the ram had no power to stand before the goat, and there was none that could deliver him out of his hand.

Page 12: 2300 Days Prophecy “Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.” Dan. 8:14

Therefore the he goat (Greece) waxed very great: and when he

was strong, the great horn (Alexander) was broken; and for it came up four

notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. Dan. 8:8

“four notable ones” or horns

Died in 323 B.C.

"Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." 1 Corinthians 10: 12.

The chief commanders of the army, who had gone into different parts of the empire as

governors of the provinces, assumed the title of king. They at once began warring against

one another to such a degree that within a few years after Alexander's death, the number was reduced to four--the exact number specified

in prophecy. Four notable horns were to come up toward the four winds of heaven in place

of the great horn that was broken.

Page 13: 2300 Days Prophecy “Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.” Dan. 8:14

These held dominion toward the four winds of heaven.

Cassander had the western parts, Lysimachus the northern regions, Seleucus

the eastern countries, and Ptolemy the southern portion of the empire.

These four horns may therefore be named Macedonia, Thrace (which then included Asia Minor, and those parts lying on the Hellespont and the Bosphorus), Syria, and

Egypt.

These were Cassander, who had Greece and the neighboring countries;

Lysimachus, who had Asia Minor; Selecus, who had Syria and Babylon,

and from whom came the line of kings known as the "Seleucidae," so famous in history; and Ptolemy, son of Lagus,

who had Egypt, and from whom sprang the "Lagidae."

So in the prophecies the future is opened before us as plainly as it was opened to the disciples by the words of Christ. The events connected with the close of probation and the work of

preparation for the time of trouble, are clearly presented. {Maranatha, p. 258}

Sacred history was one of the studies in the schools of the prophets. In the record of His dealings with the nations were traced the footsteps of Jehovah. So today we are to consider the dealings of God with the nations of the earth. We are to see in history the fulfillment of prophecy, to study the workings of Providence in the great reformatory movements, and to understand the progress of events in the marshaling of the nations for the final conflict

of the great controversy. {Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students, p. 379}
