Complex sulphide ores
Flotation is the most common method used for
separation using various sulphydryl collectors, pH
control and depressants
The ore is generally ground in two stages after which
the ground pulp is subjected to conditioning followed by
individual flotation stages to produce different
concentrates
Concentrates are dewatered to optimum transport
moisture
Complex sulphide ores contain more than one single
valuable metal sulphide mineral each to be separated
into its own individual concentrate

Porphyry copper ores
Capacities of the mines are typically up to tens of millions
of tons annually
Massive capacities demand large-scale equipment
With fewer units gaining a smaller footprint and conserve
energy, reduced maintenance and manpower costs

Iron ores
Iron ores are mainly processed by crushing, grinding,
screening, classification, gravity separation, magnetic
separation, flotation and dewatering technologies
The main iron minerals are separated from gangue
using the following core technologies:
• Magnetite ores: low intensity magnetic separation and
flotation to remove mainly sulphides and silicates
• Hematite ores: scrubbing, desliming, gravity separation,
high intensity magnetic separation, and flotation to
remove mainly silicates including clay
