It is with pleasure that Joan and I

extend a Cead Mile Failte to you on our24th Annual Rally.

West Cork is renowned the world over for its beauty enhanced bythe favourable warm winds from the North Atlantic gulf stream.You will see on your travels fuchsias along the hedgerows in fullbloom. The good people of this region are most welcoming tovisitors. I know you are all looking forward to our week end rallyand I am sure you will not be disappointed.

I am very impressed with the route John and Bob have chosen forus and look forward especially to the planned stops along the waywhich I am sure you will find to be varied and interesting.

I trust that you have prepared your vehicles for this event so as tomake them safe and roadworthy. I ask that you take special careon the roads and maintain our well earned traditional courtesy tofellow travellers, be they motorists, cyclists or pedestrians.

With grateful thanks to our membership for your continuedsupport and goodwill, I wish you and enjoyable and safe week end.

Saturday 6th July 2013:

10 a.m.

The Celtic Ross Hotel

On leaving the Hotel turn Left(East) to Ballinscarthythrough Clonakilty

STOP at the Stainless Steel Model T Replica on the Right when

you enter Ballinscarthy.



On leaving Ballinascarthy continue East for ½ Km then

turn sharp Left and follow the signs for the FordHomestead Farm – We will enter by the rear entrance.Here we will be

greeted by Ms Hazel FordButtimer and familymembers.

N.B. As the Farmyard is onthe side of a hill and there is a descent and if your hand brake is notholding fully, it is very important that you have something to put tothe wheel of your Model T.

On leaving we will continue our descent out the main entrance.

Turn Right and follow the signs for Clonakilty.



On entering the town you will

be directed to Emmet Squarewhere parking has beenreserved for us. We will enjoy

a light lunch in the Emmet Hotel on theSquare.This is optional and costs €12.

Note: There should be some interestingitems to be seen as Clonakilty is staging a“Fair Day of Times Past.”

Leave Clonakilty at 2.45 p.m. to visit the Michael Collins

Centre where historian TimCrowley will give apresentation on West

Cork’s famous sons.

We will be treated to someinteresting side attractions…anopportunity not To Be Missed!!

There is a €7 entrance charge which will include some lightrefreshments.



We intend to leave the Michael Collins Centre at 6pm

and go throughClonakilty as aModel T parade

through the main street.Return to the Celtic Ross by7pm.

Dinner at 8pm followed by music from

Jerry Deasy

Retire at will



Sunday 7th July 2013

10.30 a.m.

Leaving the Celtic Ross Hotel turn Left and travel East

towards Clonakilty for approximately 5 Kms.

Turn Left for the

Michael CollinsHomestead, passingLisavaird Co-op Stores

en-route.

On leaving the Homestead we return back the same road taking aLeft and a 2nd Left to the Four Alls Tavern at Sams Cross whereCollins met with family and friends the day he was shot.



Turn Right at the pub and continue straight to The Pike.

(Lisavaird village)

1. Turn Right at the village onto the main road forapproximately 1 Km.At the end of the hill turn Left for Rathbarry (Marked @ C on theMap).

Turn on to Long Strand and Owenahincha travelling back toRosscarbery.

Pass the Hotel.

Take First Left for Glandore – We will visit DrombegStone Circle en-route.



We will have a brief stop at picturesque Glandore. The

Glandore Inn servesfood if anyone isfeeling peckish!

On leaving Glandore we will be entering the main

Skibbereen / Clonakilty Road at Leap Village.

N.B.

Those wishing to return home early TURN Right forRosscarbery.

Those interested in travelling on to Schull turn left forSkibbereen.

On entering Skibbereen take Left at first Roundabout. Drivethrough the town and at the second Round-About (@Blackwater Motors) take Second Exit and drive straightthrough to Baltimore.



On arrival in Baltimore there are a number of

restaurants where to have lunch or a snack.

Casey’s Hotel on the way into Baltimore comes recommended.

There will be a number of parking spaces reserved on the Quayside for the Model T’s.

We expect to leave Baltimore at approx. 6p.m. travelling backto Skibbereen.



On entering Skibbereen, take the First Left at the Lidl Roundabout.

You will come to a T-Junction entering the Main Street – Turn Rightand then take the Next Left onto North Street.

At the first Roundabout take the Third Exit for Rosscarbery on theN7.

Estimated arrival time back at the Celtic Ross is approx. 7pm.

For those staying on the Sunday night take a stroll to Rosscarberyvillage where there are lovely Restaurants and Country Pubswaiting to be enjoyed.
