One of our most recent church signs challenged us to
consider what we are really good at? In fact it said that
one of the greatest dangers we face is being good at
things that manke no difference in eternity. The more I
thought about that sign the more I agree that this is a
very real danger. Many times we use our God given
talents selfishly to build up only ourselves and our families.
We spend large amounts of money and time trying to be
the best at things that don’t necessarily make any
difference for the Kingdom of God. We often trade our
God given talents for a paycheck and then neglect to
use those talents and paychecks for the Glory of the
Lord. I know personally it has challenged me to consider
what is truly important to me. I am taking an inventory of
what is important to Him. The more I examine myself, I
am finding that many of the things I enjoy are not
necessarily wrong but they have no eternal significance.
Now please do not take this the wrong way and feel like
God doesn’t want you to have any enjoyment in life. Or
even that relaxation is out for only the godly. Even God
rested on the seventh day. Rest is a very necessary thing
in our lives and is prescribed by God. We should rest but
we shouldn’t worship rest. We should work but we
shouldn’t worship work. We should recreate but we
shouldn’t worship recreation. In order to avoid the
danger of becoming consumed by things that don’t
matter we have to evaluate our worship and determine
whether or not we are worshipping the Lord. A life lived
successfully in the world’s eyes are many times a life
wasted in God’s eyes. Let’s be wise as the people of
God today and allow Him to refine us in such a way that
we might be good at redeeming the days and the lost
for Jesus Christ.

WHBC or are enrolled in our Sunday School. Please advise the church office

Let’s refocus our time, talents, finances, and energy into
living lives that matter. We have been bought at a price
let’s not become slaves to anyone or anything other
than the King of Kings, because He is the one who has
purchased us with His blood.

A Note From The Children’s Director
Excited to begin February at WHBC! I want to take a
moment to thank the members of the Children’s
Services Committee. This is a group of ladies that
stand on the front lines of kid’s ministry every week.
They give of their time and talents freely. I know that
there are many opportunities to serve the Lord and
am so grateful for their choice to serve the children.
--Looking forward to February & March--*Feb. 23-

*March 5th – Littles Easter Egg Hunt @ 10am. We are
looking forward to getting together ther eggs and

Message from the WHBC Clothes Closet
I would like to thank all of the Sunday School classes and
individuals that sponsored a family for Christmas. What a
blessing to see the children’s faces when we delivered the
gifts. All of the families were so thankful for your help and
generosity.
We are still in need of children’s winter clothes. Most sizes
are needed at this time.
We also have a need for men’s winter XXL sizes. Please
remember when donating, to give clean, gently used items.
Thank you again for your help with this ministry. Without
your donations it would be impossible to minister to those
we come in contact with.
May God bless you!

A note from the Sunday School Director
It’s that time of year and I’m not talking about shoveling
snow. I’m sitting here thinking about SPRING! It will be here
before we know it (and none too soon I might add). We are
looking at having “Friend Day” in May. Look for the date in
the April Newsletter. Please start thinking about and praying
about who you can invite to Bible study with you that Sunday.
Lunch will follow the morning worship service. The purpose
of this special Sunday it to get people who are not normally in
Sunday School to attend. Please think about your unchurched
friends and family as well as those who attend our worship
service but not Bible study. Together we can make this day a
success as well as add new friends to Sunday School.
Remember the purpose of Sunday school is to reach people
for Jesus!
In His service,
Robert Tucker

Sunday School News:
Have you given any thought to “stepping up” and teaching a
Bible study class? There is always a need for people to
substitute on short notice. If you feel led in this direction,
please let me know. Try it, you might just like it! Don’t be
afraid to step out on faith and try something new! Pastor
Dustin will be leading a study during the Sunday school hour
starting in March. It will be called “New Testament Survey”.
Any and all are welcome to attend. Please watch for more
details on this exciting study!
I hope to see you this Sunday at 9:45 for Sunday School. We
have classes for all ages. If you are looking for a class, Allan

Dear Church Members,
With every year comes change…WHBC is changing and
therefore our financial responsibilities change. Rachel
Mitchell has been hired to be WHBC’s new
secretary/bookkeeper. I will be the Treasurer required by the
constitution as Rachel’s support. During the last few months
that we have working together we have found a few things
that need updating to help with organization and efficiency.
The following are changes that will be implemented
immediately:
1. Use of Credit Card- In order to use the church’s credit
cards for church purchases, you must sign out the card.
By signing your name, you will be assuming
responsibility for any and all purchases made to these
cards until you return the card back to the office. At this
time, you will be required to have all receipts and forms
for your purchases. Credit card privileges will be
revoked for non-compliance.
2. Reimbursement made with personal funds will be
issued at the Secretary/Treasurer’s convenience.
Personal checks will be issued at least twice a week.
Rachel will notify you when your check is ready.
3. We will be trying to update the monthly reports which
will help with efficiency and clarity to the church body.
Please remember that Rachel is a church member and enjoys
her worship time as well as you do. Any questions/concerns
can be brought to her attention during normal church business
hours. We ask for your patience, understanding and prayers
during this process.

2 Corinthians 8:21
Love Can...
Love can surely rescue A heart in deep despair,
A heart that has given up
And no longer feels God near
Love can breathe new meaning When there's nothing left inside,
When there's no feeling or emotion
Just dryness in our lives
Love can restore new hope
After it's withered and died,
For hope is what will get us through
And love can be its guide
Love can run and embrace
The prodigal returning home
And the one that has come to the end,
Those hurting, lost and alone
For God's love is the answer
To our broken, empty lives,
As we come with an open heart,
He can dispel all the hurt inside
And He will heal our brokenness
And lovingly, He will bind
The wounds that have left us scarred
And bring soundness to our minds
So give it over to God's love,
Our lives, and all that we are
Then we will know and walk in His love,
For His love shall dwell in our hearts
By: M.S. Lowndes
As we think of Valentine’s Day let us remember that our first and true
love is Jesus Christ! Yes, we can use Valentine’s Day to show others
around us how deeply we care for them, but we must never forget
the love that Jesus has displayed for us. A song I heard used lyrics
that reminded me how Jesus is our first love and how we should fall
even more in love with Him every day. Love is something we work at
daily. We have to work at loving people even when they are unlovely.
This month I challenge you to love others. Put those around you first
and really allow yourself to be open and willing to love them. It can
be challenging to love others, but that is what God has called us to
do. Please accept this challenge and love God, love others, and make
a difference.
