(2012)

This Governors Ball was initially inspired by Mediterranean architecture, incorporating massive arched ceilings, ancient and majestic, yet layered in a sleek contemporary finish. Warm textures and pristine illumination filtered through transparent evening fabric and Swarovski crystals, bathing the room in soft shaded tones. Beaded wall treatments, and LED lights dripped delicately from resplendent trees, to ooze a more natural and informal atmosphere. Guests enjoyed the freedom of relaxed open seating, amid exquisitely custom built furniture, that offered a new appreciation for Old World beauty and New World comfort.

83rd Academy Awards®

(2011)

This Governors Ball blended the Hollywood music of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s with the inspired décor of such eclectic clubs as the Rainbow Room and the El Macambo. The ballroom featured an observatory domed ceiling treatment, made of circular trusses, concentrically designed, and was lit in rainbow colored hues.

82nd Academy Awards®

(2010)

This Governors Ball featured a décor design reminiscent of the late 1930's "Streamline Moderne," but with its own contemporary edge. The motif drew its inspiration from artists such as Paul Williams, whose Saks Fifth Avenue ceiling treatments revolutionized the use of indirect lighting, and Dorothy Draper, whose unique curved designs became prevalent in hotel décor. These influences melded to form a magnificent ceiling treatment featuring teardrop beaded fiber optic chandeliers. The inspiration of grand clubs such as Earl Carroll's offered guests a nostalgic journey through Hollywood's Art Nouveau which is uniquely original and candied with post modern flair.

81st Academy Awards®

(2009)

This Governors Ball offered a creative, visual dialogue between East and West. Eclectic Asian elements, inspired by nature's earth, air, water, wood and fire, were fused with contemporary design to provide a perfect sanctuary to celebrate in comfort and in style. Warm, ambient lighting revealed living landscapes of vibrant floral and architectural symmetry, while tastes and textures emerged from tray passed champagnes through delectable cuisine that promised a satisfying and truly memorable evening of celebration.

 

80th Academy Awards®

(2008)

This Governors Ball featured a color palette derived from two of the Academy’s most recognizable icons: The Red Carpet and the Gold Oscar statuette. Utilizing the shades of red and gold fearlessly, the atmosphere of this Ball became a setting for elegance and contemporary glamour.

(2011)

This years theme, mod illusions – took guests on a trip of various movements, multiple sensations and figments of the imagination. The eye was continuously tricked and deceived throughout the evening of black and white with a touch of gold (the Emmy®).

62nd Primetime Emmys®

(2010)

This year’s décor theme featured a celestial heaven—a “starry, starry night.” “Starry, starry night” was made up of three thousand smaller mirror balls which hung for the West Hall ceiling—which created a veritable Milky Way across the ballroom sky.

61st Primetime Emmys®

(2009)

Xanadu was an extravaganza of vivid colors, a Sultan’s Palace replete with 2,000 yards of Fortuny-like patterned silk hanging tent-like from the Convention Center’s 36’-high ceilings. Forty-eight oversized, brightly-colored hanging lanterns helped illuminate the vast interior-tented expanse. Tablecloths and napkins came in a rich kaleidoscope of striking colors: cerulean, royal plum, zanzibar, cerise and lime.

60th Primetime Emmys®

(2008)

This years theme “Diamonds are a girls best friend” derived from 1953 movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes –served as the gala evenings’ thematic inspiration.

59th Primetime Emmys®

(2007)

Recalling the days of Art Deco in the 1920s, the setting had noticeable architectural thru lines found in many historical monuments in Los Angeles, around the world and as simple as your first black and white television set. Emmy statuettes played a lead role in this year’s television set-inspired décor elements throughout the room. The 2900 guests feasted on a custom menu created by Los Angeles chef extraordinaire, Joaquim Splichal of Patina at dazzlingly different tabletops adorned with organza overlays, famed Lalique vases filled with calla lilies and white roses and glowing candlelight.
