The provincial capital of Musandam is small but far from sleepy. Khasab’s harbour briefly bursts with activity each time

a cruise ship arrives. Fishing boats and dhows amble in and out of the creeks, picking up lobster pots or casting nets in the surrounding bays. The town boasts a great location wedged between steep cliffs and the sea, a feature you can’t fail to appreciate when entering the harbour by boat.

Day 4 Muscat, Oman 8:00am - 6:00pm

Scenically wedged between mountains and ocean, excellent museums and flower-filled parks, the gentle city of Muscat is a delight to visit. Its name means ‘safe anchorage’, and the sea plays an important role in city life to this day, sustaining the fishing industry and providing opportunities for visitors to swim from sandy beaches or dive with turtles in nearby lagoons.

Salalah, the capital of the Dhofar region, a subtropical city in the southwest. In the verdant surroundings of the city, still seasonally watered by the fine rain of the monsoons, you’ll find coconut palms and Boswellia sacra trees. Boswellia, also known as Indian frankincense, is a precious incense used since antiquity by the Egyptians.

Aqaba’s greatest asset is widely considered the Red Sea. You can take a shore excursion to the wonders of one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites, the ancient fortress city of Petra, half-built/half-carved from rock and towering cliffs (not included).


Day 12 Suez Canal Passage Cruising

A true bucket list experience, transiting the Suez Canal has become a cherished memory for many travellers. This sea-level waterway was a Victorian-era feat connecting the Mediterranean and Red Seas, shaving 4,300 miles off sailings between Europe and Asia. As the ship makes its way through the waterway on the Suez Canal, to the west you can view the green Nile Delta in Northern Egypt and the arid Sinai Peninsula in the Middle East.

The island of Rhodes is considered one of the most important Dodecanese islands, boasting beaches, wooded valleys and historic monuments. The northernmost headland is straddled by Rhodes Town, providing a full view of Turkey less than 20km north. The ancient city that occupied this site, laid out during the fifth century BC by Hippodamos of Miletus, was almost twice the size of its modern counterpart, and at over 100,000 held more than double its population.

Day 16 Piraeus (Athens), Greece 7:30am - 4:30pm

Piraeus has been the port of Athens since Classical times, when the so-called Long Walls, scattered remnants of which can still be seen, were built to connect it to the city. Today, more than 20 million passengers pass through annually. If you’re spending any time here, though, the real attractions of the area can be found around the small-boat harbours of Zéa Marina and Mikrolímano on the opposite side of the small peninsula.

Day 18 Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy 8:0am - 7:00pm

Uncovering a thousand years of history, the port of Civitavecchia is one of the largest in Italy. Civitavecchia enjoys a millenary history due to its coves along the coast, which offered a perfect shelter for vessels, making it a natural port long before cruise ships sailed the seas. Take a chance to join a shore excursion to the eternal Italian capital city of Rome (not included).


Day 19 Genoa, Italy - Arrive at 8:00am - Milan, Italy (approx. 145km)

Today after disembarkation you will be greeted and transferred to Milan. On arrival, enjoy a walking tour with your tour leader of the city centre. Celebrated as the Italian capital of fashion and design, Milan is a city rich in art, history

and culture. See the gothic Duomo (entrance not included) En route, admire the elegant buildings along with two of Milan’s iconic streets - the Via Dante and Via Dei Mercanti.

Eventually reach the Piazza del Duomo, the true heart of Milan and one of its most significant Gothic style monuments. The city, located at the foothills of the Côte d’Or, and is known as the ‘city of a hundred towers’.

Explore the historic centre on a walking tour, with your tour leader. An excellent example of the city’s Renaissance buildings is the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy (entrance not included), in the centre of the city. The Cathedral of Saint-Bénigne (entrance not included) is another and was built on the remains of a previous Romanesque church between the twelfth and fourteenth centuries. Day 2 Dubai City Tour

This morning, enjoy a half day guided tour with a local guide in Dubai. The tour starts with a quick photo stop at Jumeirah-Mosque and at the Burj Al Arab Hotel. Then explore Dubai’s old district of “Bastakya” hosting various traditional houses and wind towers which in the past served as a natural air conditioning. Head onwards to visit the Dubai Museum which is located in the historic Al Fahidi Fort. Finish the tour with a traditional water taxi and visit the Gold- and Spice markets in Deira. This afternoon is spent at leisure.

Day 3 Desert Safari

This morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel. In the early afternoon drive to the golden dunes for a safari. Experience

Day 4 Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (approx. 140km)

Today depart for Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Visit the beautiful Sheikh-Zayed Mosque, the largest mosque in the UAE. Continue onwards to see the Al Husn Palace, the Emirates Palace Hotel (entrances not included), along with a visit to the Heritage Village. The tour also takes you to the cultural island “Saadiyat” where the Louvre museum opened its doors in 2018 (entrance not included). TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER

Tour Guide:

Often locals with intimate knowledge of

an area, its culture, and history. Their role

entails providing commentary, routing the

tour, and seeing that people have a good

time. They are a licensed, qualified expert

who supplies specific information on history,

art, architecture and culture of the city/

village/attraction in which he or she is guiding

the tour. The guide meets the group at the

required place and leaves the group at the end

of the tour, they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:

An experienced person tasked with

ensuring the smooth operation of tours,

as well as providing practical support to

passengers throughout the whole trip.

Their role primarily includes assisting with

accommodation, transportation between

locations, and communication with tour

guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide

general guidance around a city or village, and

offer information on the place visited on the

bus, however they are not required to have

specific knowledge on art, architecture, or

history. They are not allowed to provide a

guided tour or commentary of a city/village/

attraction once there and if caught doing so,

can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES

The Mediterranean and the Middle East:

The Mediterranean can expect 20°C daytime

maximum temperatures with an average of 5

hours of sunshine per day. Dubai and Oman

are hot, dry and windy year round. November

weather is pleasant in the Middle East, with

temperatures of around 18°C to 31°C, with

an average of 25°C, paired with very little

humidity.

FLIGHTS

Seat Selection & Frequent Flyer Points:

At TripADeal we do not arrange seat

selection. It is important to highlight that

some Airlines do not allow pre-selected seats.

We strongly suggest you contact the Airline

directly with seating allocation requirements

and or arrive at the airport earlier to arrange

your seating. While we do not add frequent

flyer member details to bookings, you can do

this directly with the Airline once you have

your flight information.

Passport Validity:

Customers are required to provide valid

passport details either at the time of

purchase, or no later than 45 days prior to

departure date. Failure to do so may result in

cancellation of the booking. In this instance,

customers will be responsible for any costs

and fees incurred.

CRUISE

Disembarkation:

- Begins approximately 2 hours after

docking.

- Due to security reasons, all guests must be

on board 2 hours before sailing.

- Itineraries are subject to change at any

time without notice.

- Check your specific sailing for exact

departure and arrival times. All times are

local to the port.

Cruise Loyalty Discounts:

Please note: Travellers booked via TripADeal will not be entitled to receive any cruise line customer loyalty discounts. Similar to airline frequent flyer programs, this is outside of the TripADeal booking process. However, customers may contact the cruise line direct upon receiving their TripADeal travel documents to request any membership benefits they are entitled to.

COACH TOUR

Meals:

57 Meals are included in the tour, for all other

meals; lunches and dinners the tour leader

(when available) will offer assistance with

reservations, suggestions and directions to

local restaurants. It is your responsibility to

notify TripADeal of any dietary requests/

requirements. Please note; we will do our

best to meet your requests/requirements,

however, cannot guarantee that we will

always be able to.

Luggage:

You will be responsible for all your personal

belongings whilst on the tour. With regards

to luggage, you must carry your own luggage

from the coach to the hotel room and back

to the coach. The driver will assist with the

uploading and off-loading of the luggage from

the coach.

OTHER

Fitness Level Required / Mobility:

Our vehicles are not equipped with

wheelchair access, so unfortunately our tours

are currently not suitable for wheelchair

users and those less mobile.

Please note: A general level of fitness will be required. If you have any concerns please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.

Gratuities / Tipping:

Land

Gratuities (tips) are not included in the tour

price for services of the tour leader (when

available) and driver throughout the tour.

The recommended tip in UAE is $7 USD per

person per day this covers the guide/leader

and the driver, which will be collected whilst

on tour.

Tipping for all services provided on tour

is always a matter of personal discretion,

however please be aware that tipping is

considered by many locals to be a part of their

normal remuneration and they may approach

you for payment and there is no need to be

intimidated by the request.

Cruise

Gratuities (tips) are not included in the tour

price for the services of the cruise staff

throughout the cruise component of this

tour. MSC is an internationally registered

company & operates to US & European

standards, both of which have an economy

driven by a gratuities culture. Gratuities are

expected on your cruise and will be charged

to your onboard account at €10 (approx. $16

AUD) per person per day. If you have any

questions in regards to the gratuities on your

cruise please speak to the guest services staff

onboard the ship.

Sightseeing:

Please note: In the event entrance to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary will be adjusted to ensure you do not miss out on the experience.

Shopping:

Shopping overseas can be a daunting and

confusing experience, especially when there

is a language barrier. Please be very cautious

when foreign currencies and prices are



involved. If paying by credit card, please pay

close attention to the amount you are being

charged and keep all of your receipts.

Do not make any purchases you are not

comfortable with or feel pressured into. If

you are uncertain or need assistance with the

language barrier, please seek assistance from

your Tour Guide/Leader.

VISAS

For All Packages

Europe

A tourist visa is not required for Europe

for stays up to 90 days if travelling on an

Australian passport.

Jordan

A visa for Jordan will be granted on arrival

if participating in an ‘onshore excursion’ and

managed by the cruise company while on the

tour if travelling on an Australian passport

holder.

United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Australian passport holders are eligible for a

free 30-day visitor visa-on-arrival.

Important: Please start arranging your visa at least 3 weeks prior to departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.

Please note: Passengers who are not Australian citizens must check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required. It is also important to note, some areas of employment such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations may have additional restrictions in applying for Visas. This may in turn affect the type of application required.
