When we decided to sell our whiskey by the barrel, we thought a few folks might be interested. (We were a little surprised when we sold 20 times more barrels than we expected.)

We encourage you to scedule a visit to the Jack kDaniel Distillery to share with Master Distiller, Jeff Arnett in the task of selecting the perfect barrel to suit your own particular taste. Or, if you prefer, Jeff will gladly make this selction on your behalf.

We’ll hand-bottle your barrel of whiskey in elegant 750mL decanters that bear Mr. Jack’s signature in raised glass. (Each barrel yields about 240 bottles of whiskey. We say “about” because, just as no two barrels produce exactly the same fl avor, they don’t produce excatly the same amount of whiskey either.

Each decanter displays the individual barrel number, the rick from which it was taken in our barrel house, and the date when the whiskey was bottled.

A medallion around the decanter announces that this whiskey was bottled exclusively for you. You’ll also receive the actual barrel (we never re-use them) and a customized barrel head to display proudly, so your friends can see that you chose to of them the fi nest sipping whiskey from Jack Daniel’s.

Securing your own personal stock of Jack Daniel’s whiskey is a rare investment. The total price will depend on your barrel’s yield anad local taxes. The barrel price will range from $9,000 to 12,000 ($35 to $40 per bottle, US pricing).

In making your purchase, please keep in mind that barrel orders must be received at the distillery by the fi rst of the month in order to be available to you at your local retailer within six weeks. Also due to great holiday demand, please place your holiday orders before October 1. Though it takes an expert like our master distiller, Jeff Arnett, to notice it, no two barrels of whiskey taste exactly alike. (The unique fl avors depend on the temperature extremes during the seasoning process, and even where the barrels sit in the barrelhouse.)

When we’re sampling each barrel of whiskey as it comes of age, Jeff sets a few aside, ones with the smoothest tastes, richest color an dmore intense fl avor. These barrels are destined for something special: to be sold, one barrel at a time, to our most discriminating customers.

Less than fi ve-tenths of one percent of our whiskey ears this distinction.

So when you by a single barrel, your buying a wiskey that is truly like no other.

SELECT YOUR OWN SMALL BATCH

Your Personal Selection program begins with a visit to The Woodford Reserve Distillery in the heart of Central Kentucky’s rolling bluegrass region. Nestled amidst Kentucky’s famous thoroughbred horse farms, you will work alongside Woodford Reserve’s craftsmen to select the barrels that will comprise your distinctive batch of Woodford Reserve.

As you will fi nd, each barrel matures at its own rate and takes on a character all its own; subtle ranges of fl avor will be accentuated by the mingling of barrels with their own unique fl avor profi le.

A total of 180 one liter bottles will then be bottled, and labels will be hand-applied designating you as the proud owner of this select stock.

We sincerely hope that you will join us at The Woodford Reserve Distillery for this one-of-a-kind experience. If you choose not to make the trip, however, a professional taster will conduct a personal tasting with you, selecting from among several Woodford Reserve barrels the batch that best suits your preference.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

When you purchase a Personal Selection of Woodford Reserve you will receive the following;

• 180 1.0L bottles of your selected bourbon, offered in personalized, individually-labeled bottles bearing your name (or that of the recipient, if different),

• A personalized barrel head

• One of the empty barrels used in this bottling (if desired),

ONE BATCH AT A TIME

In 1797 Elijah Pepper began making small batches of his hand-crafted whiskey at a distillery behind the Woodford County Courthouse in Versailles, Kentucky. His business prospered, and the need for a reliable, abundant supply of fresh spring water prompted him to move his operation to the banks of Glenn’s Creek in 1812. Over the years word of Pepper’s uniquely smooth whiskey spread far and wide, and many leading fi gures of the day would personally visit his distillery to select their own private stock from among the aging barrels in storage. Nearly 200 years later whiskey is still being produced and aged at the same sit e - since renamed The Woodford Reserve Distillery – one small batch at a time.

The Woodford Reserve Distillery remains Kentucky’s oldest and smallest operating distillery and is home to Kentucky’s most popular super- premium bourbon, Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select. Carefully crafted by hand – just as its legacy requires – Woodford Re-serve is painstakingly selected by Master Distiller Chris Morris from only the fi nest maturing whiskey stocks. A select few barrels of similar character and maturity are then mingled together and bottled in small batches right on site. Today The Woodford Reserve Distillery is making it possible for the whiskey connoisseur to pur-chase and select their own personal batch of Woodford Reserve, much the same way our Master Distiller tastes and selects the barrels of this award-winning bourbon.

PERSONAL SELECTION PROGRAM

ORDER PROCESSUpon receiving a fi rm commitment from a customer, please complete the By-The-Barrel Order Form, which can be found by clicking the “By-The-Barrel” icon on the My B-F portal.

The Ordering process is approximately 6-8 weeks from invoice receipt and is open to all customers: consumers, On-Premise and Off-Premise.

DELIVERED WITH DISTINCTIONOur By-The-Barrel program includes a number of premium, signature items that accompany each barrel purchase.

DOUBLE OAKED BARRELCustomers receive a deeply toasted, lightly charred second white oak barrel, similar to the one in which the bourbon was fi nished. It is varnished, branded and shipped directly to the customer for display.

PERSONALIZED BARREL HEADA barrel head is personalized with the purchaser’s name and is varnished, branded and shipped to the customer along with the Double Oaked barrel. Please note that this is not the original barrel head from the barrel of origin.

PERSONALIZED MEDALLIONSEach of the 216 750mL bottles yielded by the second barrel are certifi ed by Woodford Reserve and signed by Master Distiller Chris Morris. Personalized medallions feature the purchaser’s name.

VIP DISTILLERY VISITCustomers also have the option to visit the Woodford Reserve Distillery (at their ex-pense) to select their own barrel. The visit includes a VIP tour of the distillery and tast-ing experience.

NON-VISIT CUSTOMER OPTIONFor customers who have purchased a barrel but are unable to visit the distillery, an exclusive teletasting or barrel selection made on the customer’s behalf by our master distiller Chris Morris is an alternative premium option.

The overwhelming response to our Master’s Collection Seasoned Oak Finish offering inspired us to create a twice-barreled bourbon that is available year-round. Uniquely matured in our hadncrafted white oak barrels, the second barrel deeply toasted before a light charring, creates Woodford Reserve Double Oaked - a smooth, full-bodied expression with a long, rich fi nish that we are proud to share with others who are as passionate about bourbon as we are.

MATURATION PROCESS

The Key to creating Woodford Reserve Double OakedWoodford Reserve is matured in custom, white oak barrels created at our own cooperage. The barrels are toasted and charred to perfection, creating the rich fl avor and color of Woodford Reserve during the time spent in the barrels.

The fully matured bourbon is transferred into a second barrel, and this is where Double Oaked is born. The second barrel is also custom-crafted, with an even deeper toasting than the fi rst. It also recives a lighter charring, allowing delicate, caramelized notes of vanilla, crea and honey to shine through.
