From the principal’s desk:
The annual school Athletics
carnival was held last week
and it was a wonderful
couple of days. Students
participated with a great
deal of energy and it was
wonderful to see them
challenging themselves in a
range of athletic events. A
big “thank you” to the
House Captains, Mr
Filewood and Mr McDonell
for their organisation of this
event.
The annual school Music
night was held last week
and displayed an array of
talented musicians we
have at this school.
Congratulation to all the
musicians on a fine display
of their musical talents, and
of course thank you to the
CAPA faculty for the
seamless organisation of
this event.

BAND NEWS
Last week at the Annual Music Nights, families and the school community were
treated to some wonderful music from our talented Baulko musicians. Featuring solos
and group performances from students in the elective music classes, and each band
and ensemble, the audience enjoyed an array of musical styles, including 8 hands
piano piece and an acapella group. It was a full house on both evenings. Thank you
to Ms Julie Kim for organising the event and to all the teaching staff for their support;
Ms Pugliano, Ms Clarke, Mr Humphreys, Ms Lockley and teachers across all faculties
(too many to name).
Special thanks to the Conductors for their expertise: Dr Madrid, Dr Clark, Ms Brown,
Mrs Groves, Ms Wang and Mr Mak (Euro tour special guest). It was great to see
students enjoying themselves whilst performing and see the rewards of putting in
years of hard work practising and rehearsing.
Thanks to parents serving supper at Interval.

IMPORTANT: Busways School Service Changes
Commencing May 27th 2019
Commencing Monday 27th May 2019 there will be significant changes to the Busways
Western Sydney Network, resulting from the introduction of the Norwest Metro.
Busways have created letters to advise students and parents of any changes to current
services, which will be distributed on the affected services from this week.
However, due to the scale of change involved and to ensure all students are aware of the
changes, we are asking all School administration teams to assist in urging parents to check
their Schools New Timetable starting 27th May to familiarise themselves with the changes.
You can find your schools timetable here (please select the link to the right of your School’s
name labelled “New timetable | 27 May 2019”): https://www.busways.com.au/school-
services/school-timetables.
PLEASE NOTE: The new timetables are not currently available, however they will be uploaded
no later than 20th May 2019.
Alternatively, you can use TfNSW Transport Planner to view all transport options (not just
Busways services, i.e. including Train, Metro, Light Rail, Ferry and other bus operator services)
to assist students in planning their travel to and from School.
TfNSW Transport Planner can be accessed here (ensure School Bus services are also selected
in the options): https://transportnsw.info/trip#/
Procedure for Sick Students
Students who are sick in class should see a teacher for written permission to go to sick bay. They must
go to sick bay (which is in the Front Office) and follow instructions from the office staff, who will contact
a parent/guardian when necessary. Sick bay is used for a short time only. Students should not call their
parents first. Please be advised the school does not supply any medication (panadol).
